Should you ever get some Rugburn, from Rare Danikness seeds you won't believe the incredible flavor, nor the uplifting high for a mostly indica strain. Seems trying to find the seeds is a rare venture too, tho.

Was the Chocolate kush named for color, taste, or both?

Neither.
It is a cross between Mazar I Sharif (indica) and Chocolope Kush (a sativa-dominant hybrid).
The taste is very smooth with an earthy quality, while the high is a nice balance of cerebral euphoria and physical relaxation.
