NYNY...I guess if you test that theory, then try eliminating Medicare & Medicaid and see what the response is. The only reason the working population is against it is because, for most, their employers are paying most if not all the bill. Combine that with the fact that the older Cold War, baby boomer population was raised on the notion that things like Socialism is just Communism Lite. As the employers continue to migrate to the ultra high deductible health plans and workers, especially with families, begin to grasp the hard fact that the first $8K..$10k-$15k spent per year on their medical care is coming out of their pockets, they will warm up to the concept
I have no desire to eliminate medicare or medicaid. They were designed for the old and the truly poor.
Both programs have been hijacked by Congress to solve all kinds of problems they were never intended to solve.
