Bike Rental in Amsterdam

Postby Tall Guy » Sun Jun 21, 7:41 pm

Here's a couple of recent threads about bike rental:

http://forum.channels.nl/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=34037&

http://forum.channels.nl/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=33074

A page about the Dutch Cycling obsession in general:

Some great cycling videos and links here: http://amsterdamize.com/

And finally a MUST read for anyone thinking of riding a bike in Amsterdam:

Courtesy of rarely-spotted Channelite SG Collins. If you're not a regular city bike rider, Amsterdam can be quite a dangerous place to cycle, despite the bike-friendly road laws. If you're going to smoke pot or drink, it's probably safer to walk and get trams.

One year ago I was renting an e-bike for my stay in Amsterdam. I am sooo glad that I went.

Just "borrow" a bike. They're everywhere.

If you had ever visited the Netherlands you would know just how ignorant and offensive you remark is.

Those dork Dutch people have only one kind of bike, a one speed cruiser bike. I prefer my 7 speed fat tire bike.

Swapfiets
Swapfiets. The most popular bike in Amsterdam by a country mile is the Swapfiets. The single speed “Original” with their signature blue front tire is so common that they're beginning to form clusters in the city. There is also a 7 speed model available as well as the increasingly popular Power 1 E-bike.Jan 9, 2022

Never got into motorcycles, but some of my friends did. Always thought they were suicide machines. I had a friend die in a motorcycle accident. Just nothing to cushion the blow on a bike.

Enjoy, but be safe.
