What is your favorite hotel when visiting Amsterdam?

I always had a soft spot for Hotel Maas, but I'm not sure if they are still in business. One reason I liked it so much is that it was a block walk from where a bus from the airport stops. The stop to get back to the airport is on the bridge between Leidseplein and Stadhouderskade, spitting distance from the hotel. No fuss, no muss and cheap bus fare. They also had a decent breakfast spread and didn't have a problem with you bringing an "escort" back to your room. I know this because I could hear the guy in the next room and his escort negotiating and then getting it on.

I remember staying in a single room on the top floor at the end of the hall first time there. It was tiny as fuck, but it had a door that led out to the roof. I liked to sit out there and toke. The view wasn't great, but it was still cool.

That's good stuff. I looked for stuff like that in Amsterdam and didn't really find it.
