Out of the Closet
Well, I guess that with a new format it will take some people here to get the ball rolling. So I thought I would kick it off.
As you can see, my screen name is UA946. I created that name in honor of my favorite flight, United Airlines #946 from Washington Dulles to Amsterdam.
Over the past two years I've made the trip half a dozen times. My fascination with Amsterdam has created some heated discussions with my girlfriend, particularly when I jaunt off with one of my smoking buddies. Typically, after I retun from a bachelor trip I can soothe things quite nicely when I offer to take her for the next trip.
During these trips I've had the opportunity to stay at a number of hotels: The Pulizter, Amsterdam Hotel, Die Port Van Cleve, Brouwer, and the Canal House.
Regarding the coffeeshop scene, until recently I had favored the Dutch Flowers for its view and because its one of the few places where you can buy a fat doobie filled with 100% herb. However, over the past couple of trips I have found myself enjoying the Betty Boop. Not so much for its selection of pot, but because the staff is so very friendly and helpful. On top of that, they have an upstairs cyber lounge to waste away the hours.
Anyway, I've been lurking this forum and another for quite a while and reading, with great enthusiam the many questions and stories that you have all posted. Perhaps in the future, I can contribute something as well.
See 'ya later.........(Back to AMS 3-20......flight UA 946 of course!!!)

I have now looked at how the forum works, and think that it is the best type to have. It looks like this is the standard Internet Forum format. After getting used to it, I prefer it to the former format.

UA946
Funny, I depart for Amsterdam on March 20th, arriving in Amsterdam at 0730. I am not sure but I may be on the very same flight. I wanted to go in May but airfares were getting up there. I too, will travel with a buddy and the wife doesn't seem to mind too much. It is true, as soon as you get permission, thet are already beginning to research the family trip.
