I'm sitting here thinking about the bacon like substance they serve at the Damrak Hotel for breakfast and remembering the mornings over in Amsterdam. I have been to Hungary as well as Germany and it seems as though there is always a fog when you wake up. It could have been the wake and bake but I doubt it. At any rate I would walk around the streets before most people were awake and just roam around the old buildings in this fog. It's so surreal to see people jacked into the system when you are unjacked from the system. Bikes flying by at 7 am. Beautifully dressed woman waiting for trams and buses. Store fronts opening. Street cleaners spraying the funk from the previous night off the street.
I love the way this city is set up too. CS at one end and it branches out from there. A gigantic ampitheater-like set up. Man I want to go back!

Absolutely - walking the Jordaan at 0530 / 0600 in late May through to early July. Wandering roughly northwards through the Jordaan from Looiersgracht to Brouwersgracht on no particular planned route (just as it takes you) then back via Priinsengracht for breakfast at 0800 - great start to the day
