Why would you vote for a neo liberal who has been a prominent reason america is facing a mega depression? At least modern roots brought reasoning to this forum. A different kind of reasoning for sure, but one that surely grated against the commonality of this forum, much in the same way as NYNY and Shez did. But again why would you vote for that clown, when he's clearly the problem, not the answer, any more than tRump is? Please explain.

Re: BUILD BACK BETTER
And in the area of reasoning.
Your vote in this year's Presidential election for an independent candidate, regardless of who they are or what they believe, will in reality count as a negative for both Biden and Trump.
This will , in effect, if Trump wins by a narrow margin, unintentionally make you a Trump supporter.
He would love for you to vote for Kanye or anyone else but Biden.
Sure, you won't vote for Trump, you brave warrior you, but in reality you are going to support him in an odd, removed vicarious way.
But of course you know this.
(I'll resist the urge to tell you what YOUR problem is here)
Because Biden has lots of experience in governance he is bad for the US because the US sucks since he's been out of government because of the things he did while he was in government?
Is my reasoning faulty, or is there something about reality I'm missing?
Please, please explain.
And using reason would be nice.
Getting rid of Trump would be even nicer for obvious reasons.

Actually my insights on that issue was settled decades ago. As long as you believe that, both party's have you squarely where they want you, which in under their thumb, be it the neo conservatives, or the neo liberals, they don't care which you decide, as long as you'll stand in line for their particular pile of political nonsense, on election day. Their agenda has been clearly to keep the middle class and poor down, but more importantly divided between party's that represent the same thing, which basically is to benefit our elitist class, which historically has always been paid for by the middle class. Further political strife, in the very near future, could will include the millions of innocent folks about to be evicted from their digs thru no fault of their own, if what we call representatives fail the people they represent yet again, by failing to provide any relief for the suffering masses. Trillions for defense and our banksters and peanuts for the people paying it all.
The history of american politics have been mostly the same all our lives, Rudy. Nixon's removing us from the gold standard was the biggest economic debacle of our lifetime, because it set the stage for this incredible amount of debt that's been generated. You are aware the fed is buying it's own debt and calling it more capital gains, right? Imo, it's the electorate that vote constantly for change, when it hasn't occurred in their life time's who are the bigger reason we're in this mess, because they only pay attention to the propaganda that's beamed at them from every possible direction and their refusal to take the time out of their busy lives to become analytical over the rubbish that passes for news. I've oft wondered how hitler talked a whole country into a major war and less than fifteen years after another clear fiasco, but viewing america's mainstream media i no longer wonder. Of course, that's neither here, nor there, if one wishes to look forward. However, to look forward with wisdom and foresight, one must know what's occurred in the past with certainty and most of us don't have a clue, Rudy. I'm still learning our real american history, within my lifetime and i'm crashing seventy all too soon.
Rudy wrote:Because Biden has lots of experience in governance he is bad for the US because the US sucks since he's been out of government because of the things he did while he was in government?
Biden has always been a goof, imo, all the way back to when he was caught lying on his educational background, for his first run for senator of Delaware, which has all of three counties and two senators, not a bad deal, 'specially when campaigning. He was also part of the team in 08 that vowed to jail the banksters and others involved in that era's shakedown, but once in office they did the opposite to very lucrative dividends. However, Biden is also caught up in the same corruption that your dems tried to impeach tRump over, which was mostly for cover from russiagate. Biden's son Hunter was being paid half a million a year to sit on a corrupt Ukraine energy co.'s board and i've posted Biden himself stating it of himself, that he essentially committed the same crime on video, that the dems (erroneously) accused tRump of.
Instead of governances we watch folly and as for this pandemic the various governors are showing their states are as leaderless, as our feds, is it any wonder they're run by the same politicos as the federal level? All above immunity for any crimes they commit. For me Rudy i only see a dictatorship that benefits the rich and change will never occur if either major party wins the election.
Rudy wrote:Getting rid of Trump would be even nicer for obvious reasons.
Iff'n they'd all have heart attacks on election eve we'd have a little chaos, but nothing like what happens if either, or wins. Our depression will just be extended a bit longer, but what's a little misery, as long as our rich feel comfortable, right?
My wish would be somehow, someway, when it's least expected a true people's political party somehow emerged from the protests occurring around the country, but alas, most are clueless to whom they should be directing their anger against.
As for your mom, perhaps you could get her to start a new chapter of MADDER, (for Mothers Against Damned Democrats [but] Especially Republicans=)?

The owners of the shop, fearing the wreckage that the bull would likely cause, decided to move the shop to a safer location.
But they couldn't accomplish that move, and eventually took a total loss as everything in the building was destroyed.

If anyone wants to get a succinct understanding of what's occurring economically today and why, then read this interview, between economists Ellen Brown and Michael Hudson. They explain why we're getting screwed and really the only way out, which is a debt jubilee, but they further explain why support for either party this November is a truly wasted vote.

Re: BUILD BACK BETTER
Well, we're a month and a half into Biden's presidency and gas is up 75 cents a gallon and electric cars are still unaffordable for the working, middle class, and poor. Does $45,000 sound affordable to you? And where can you really drive it with no charging stations? LOL!!! What a clusterfuck!
When will going "green" be affordable for the average American?
Right now, it's just for the wealthy and the overwhelming majority won't do it! Where's the outrage for all these assholes that can afford electric vehicles and solar panels on their rooftops, but won't do it? Instead, it's just kick the little man and criticize and ridicule him. How pathetic!!
We'll see what Biden does for the little guy to make going green more affordable. Why not pressure the car makers to make a $15,000 electric car comparable to my gas burner? But he won't do that, it requires balls. He'll just sit back and sign executive order after executive order that makes oil and gas more expensive taking more of my check and disposable income. He's stopped the Keystone XL pipeline for no good reason. I've already told you people oil and gas won't go away overnight. Why not energy independence? Why rely on foreign oil when we have our own? Making some raghead nation rich? What does that accomplish?
Build Back Better?
More like kick the little guy in the nuts and cater to the rich...
Looks like I'll be taking my new bike for more trips...to work...to the grocery store...this asshole in the White House isn't going to break me on the price of oil and gas. Just think of all the people unable to bike to work and the grocery store. They just get to throw money away at the gas pump...what a dickhead.
How long to $3 or $4 a gallon gas? Not long the way it's going now. I've drove 235 miles so far this year. I'm greener than Bo, Cat, and Rudy combined. LOL!!! Enjoy filling up your gas tanks, gentlemen. Just what you wanted, right?

You've driven far more than I. How can you make statements without any knowledge...oh, right, I forgot...you're stupid. I hope that gas continues to rise and I hope that the high price keeps you in your hovel; away from society.
BTW $40,000 is the average that Americans pay for new cars. $45,000 seems fairly reasonable to me.

Now go on and lie again...tell me about your rooftop solar setup and how "affordable" it was.
Gas is already a dollar a gallon higher in California than it is here.
Why do you think this is so??
I've got a cousin that lives there now and he took a picture at the gas pump and posted it on Facebook.
Do you enjoy paying more for everything just because you live in California?
How do you consider $45,000 "fairly" reasonable when a comparable sized gas burner sells for under $20,000?
The car manufacturers are just contributing to climate change by offering only overpriced EV's to the wealthy...just think how many EV's would be on the road if the selling price was that of a gas burner?? All that oil and gas and smog contributing to climate change just because the car manufacturers only make and sell higher end EV's.
It should burn you up if you really cared and believed about this nonsense called climate change.

Gas has always been over $6 a gallon here. There are charge points on every block. Even all the delivery vehicles here are electric. On my street there are more EVs than gas users.

Re: BUILD BACK BETTER
You also live in a teeny-tiny country where everything is accessible by foot, bike, or public transportation. You could go anywhere in the Netherlands on a single charge, even round trip on a single charge. Not that way here in the states, everything is spread out. Hell, the Netherlands as a whole isn't half the size of Alabama, maybe even only a third, and we don't have the infrastructure of public transportation there.
I would imagine there are a great number of people that live there without a car, just using their bike and public transportation to get around. It really isn't comparing apples to apples when you look at the Netherlands and Alabama. Your population density there is much higher than where i live. Everything is relatively close together. An EV that gets 225 miles to one charge wouldn't even take you all the way to our beaches on the Gulf Coast from where i live in northern Alabama. LOL!!! 225 miles would carry you across that little country and back!
How much and what brands of EV's do they have in the Netherlands? Anything cheaper than $45,000?

Re: BUILD BACK BETTER
You’ve gotta start somewhere. Rent a gas burner to go to the beach. With $6 gas there should be enough to build a proper public transport network. Once built the users pay the upkeep.
EV’s start around 8K here. A Renault Cleo is 18K. And 5 times cheaper to run. The math is easy here. Rent for really long hauls when you’re in a hurry. Public for most other things, and an EV for local if it’s that important.
Instead of complaining, figure it out.

That's a great starting price, $8k. I could afford $18k for a Cleo, but we don't have anything that affordable in the US market. The car makers just cater to the wealthy with high end EV's here. If you've been following my posts you'll know I'd gladly pay $15k to $20k for an EV. That's my biggest gripe, here you can't buy an EV for the same price as a compact gas burner.
I'd love to have an $8k option for an EV. Hell, I'd spring for the $18k Renault Cleo if you could buy one in the US.
Thanks for posting, MileHigh. I'll google the $18k Renault Cleo and check it out and see if it will be available in the US market any time soon. If so, I'll be trading in my gas burner for one!!! But I'm just afraid you have EV options there that we don't have here.

Now give me my $1,400!! I'm stimulating the economy.
I've already got it spent on my new 2021 GAS burner!!! Woohoo!!!

We'll need another round of stimulus checks by year's end.
Gotta love the FREE money. Way to go Biden!!
But remember, Trump give out $1,200 and then wanted $2,000 the last time. Trump and Biden have that in common.

Re: BUILD BACK BETTER
I see where Biden is pushing a huge, trillion dollar infrastructure bill. Getting stiff opposition from the GOP. Unfortunate. I totally approve. Our infrastructure has been crumbling for years as roads and bridges need to be replaced. You'd think the GOP could support such an effort.
Mitch McConnell is leading the opposition. I hate to say it, but I wish that guy would die just to get him out of the Senate. He's a useless steaming pile of shit. Can't stand the prick.
Do any of you support the infrastructure bill?
I'm all for it. I say get to work on the interstates now, like yesterday.
