The Great Trump Depression
The Great Trump Depression
Lets see him deny, deflect, minimize and reject the jobless statistics that keep coming out. A 14.7 jobless rate as of this post, and 20,500,000 jobs lost in April alone. And its only the beginning.
So when is the next stimulus check coming eh? That $ 1200.oo pittance payment isn't going to cut it by any means.
Time to bring back the National public works programs like the Conservation Corps and infrastructure rehabilitation programs similar to the New Deal FDR initiated.

Unemployment's prolly closer to fifty percent for folks looking for work, not just the ones on unemployment benefits, which are the only ones the feds count. However, for those fortunate enough to get those benefits an additional six hundred dollars is getting attached to each one of them, which for some states nearly quadruples the normal benefit.

This would be an excellent idea, both for employment and our crumbling infrastructure. Unfortunately, both party's are more intent on destroying for private profit, than rebuilding anything that entails expense.
Re: The Great Trump Depression
Trump's economic fantasy can't replace reality. His deplorable thuggish supporters can't stop our intrepid journalists from telling the truth. Discrediting the death count won't work. His maneuverings won't save an economy in a free fall. Viral spread will block any meaningful recovery. Hiding data and blaming others will deepen this disaster. Travel and tourism will remain stagnant. Structural changes to how people work will mean that a portion of today's lost jobs will be permanent. Consumers will not suddenly start buying.
VP Pence said all this would be resolved by Memorial Day.

Re: The Great Trump Depression
The stock market indexes are built on hopes and dreams. Magical thinking, denial and an inability to confront this crisis in a rational adult manner isn't going to help the unemployment rate which will remain elevated for years according to the Fed. They predict the unemployment rate will end the year 2020 at 9.3 percent. Socialism for the equity markets, bucks for Billionaires, and thin gruel for the savers. Time to bring back Occupy Wall St.

I'm confident you'll be eating those words before November! Assuming you're not belly up from Covid-19!

The market will always have bad days. It will rebound.
Seems like the two of you are pulling for down times. How sad. You should hope our nation prospers. Shows what kind of heart and soul you have.

The above shows just what kind of mind you have...not much on cognition. Too much cheap weed I suspect.
Re: The Great Trump Depression
Another 1.48 million Americans filed for unemployment benefits in the week ending June 20, exceeding economists’ expectations for 1.32 million.
47 Million Americans have filed for unemployment in the last 14 weeks.
With only 1.48 million Americans filing last week, the stock market should skyrocket!

Record jobs increase for the month of June, with 4.8 million jobs added, bringing the unemployment rate to just 11.1%.
The economy is roaring back said Trump.

Re: The Great Trump Depression
" The White House's victory lap, when nearly 130,000 Americans are dead in a pandemic Trump initially ignored, then mismanaged, then ignored again exemplifies its perverse insistence to concentrate only on the economic pain caused by the national crisis rather than infections that are rising dramatically.
While everyone can be encouraged that the jobless rate surprisingly slipped to 11.1% in June, the news of rising cases and cities under siege that Trump dismissed could make Thursday's data a false dawn. Bars, restaurants and shops are closing again across the country -- including in California, which is facing a prolonged disaster -- in a way that could again surge job losses and stifle the rebound which Trump is willing to inflate beyond any connection with reality to boost his reelection hopes. "

If you thought the first half of 2020 was bad, just wait! Unless something daring happens (military coup?) it is over for America!

Get out while you can. Oh wait, never mind.
You won’t be attending the first fireworks display in a hundred years at Mt. Trumpmore?

I'm surprised he's not going ahead with his D.C. parade with tanks clanking over the BLACK LIVES MATTER painted on 16th Street
on the way to the White House.

Just how would a military coup improve our situation, Bo? I'm imagining, with a comment like yours, that you'll be first in line when Bill Gates offers his untested vaccine to virtual guinea pigs?

Vaccine is not the answer. Neither is a military coup but that might be what it will take to depose the orange dotard.

it took the the US almost 50 years er 30+ years of research and science (FAILED vaccines included) to create a vaccine for polio....
We got a long way before a vaccine for corona is created...... lmao
It's not that it won't be untested..... it's that the testing will be tainted....and the data will be manipulated for whomever's purpose....

Hey the orange dotard said that they will create a vaccine for Covid-19 just like they did for AIDS...exactly like that.

Only a racist would believe in the stereotypical mythology of the Welfare Queen. Its time some dumb ass yanks like your Trump buddies got schooled on race, class and gender no? Trump has sadly made race the big election year issue so think about it.
