Green New Deal
The Democratic Presidential candidates are all pushing for the green new deal pledging trillions to fight climate change. How are they going to pay for it and get it done? Is it time for all renewable energy sources? Time to get away from coal? Time for all electric vehicles where oil and gas are a thing of the past? Time for us to all be vegan and stop eating meat?

Re: Green New Deal
I don't think the rich have that much money.
And the cost is in the trillions. No real way to pay for it.

How are they going to pay the costs of vast damage, death, injury and displacement caused by climate emergencies?

You are lost in the weeds (no pun intended), which is precisely the purpose of all the sloganeering and the tribalism. You might consider it the sleight-of-hand through which the corporate elite the world over have endeavored to obfuscate, separate, isolate, and divide and conquer. It is not your fault you are susceptible to these forces. You do not know any better, and those who have so benevolently taken it upon themselves to aspire toward "leadership" on your behalf have made it difficult for you to raise your voice against them. 'Tis by design, amigo. The world as we know it has come far from the days of the Industrial Revolution, and existing in the fog of a nineteenth-century agrarian mindset has been detrimental to the further development of humanity. Globalism. Populism. Nationalism. Humanism. These are just "hard words" that are used to scare and juxtapose the common folk. There is more to life than legal weed, and to the extent that legalized cannabis - for medical or recreational use - is the movement of the moment, it will only serve to further this same end goal for the power elite.
In answer to your questions - yes. Quite likely.
It is called progress, and it has never been a question of money per se; rather, what we do with it.
Don't be fooled by politics, and don't get lost in the nomenclature. When the end comes, we are all vulnerable. Neither money, nor weed, nor class will save any of us. We are all in this together. As soon as the masses figure this out and internalize it, the hegemony is over, and everyone from Boris Johnson to Moscow Mitch to the stupid fuck with the ridiculous hair currently residing in the White House knows this. They feel it. They depend on it. Remember this every time you see Trump pull his messianic bullshit, and when you hear and observe Ivanka and Donnie, Jr. try their molting wings in the same arena.
We are all we have, mate. The sooner we realize this, the better.
Cheers,
Slith

I think you carried your response a bit too far.
Exactly where am I lost in the weeds?
These climate change activists are too apocalyptic with their message. It's not the end of the world.
We'll need oil and gas for years to come. The transition to electric cars will be painfully slow.
Let me be clear. I'm for zero carbon emissions but I'm also a realist.

Can't say either way with Dazzler's question, however, CLINTEL's address is Goudabloemstraat 83, Amsterdam.
Here's one fellow's blog on the subject of climate change and Greta Thunberg.
And this site claims the Rockefeller family became the authority for climate change back in the eighties, why would they have done that? Even Thomas Jefferson's journals document what he saw as warming over the years in rural Virginia, so it's been occurring for a long, long time, with breaks every century, or so. The last mini ice age occurred in the early nineteenth century and the next purportedly begins in 2040, or so and will last for fifteen to twenty years, if like several earlier ones over the centuries.
If any of this is true i'm grateful i got to live during the warmup and not the mini freeze.
