I am looking at the projected landfall path of Hurricane Dorian and find myself secretly wondering if it might hit as a Category 4 with the eye of the storm moving directly inland along US 98. Nothing at all against the good people of Florida, but that would place the northern side of the eye wall directly on top of Mar a Lago.

How poetic would it be - taking FEMA relief funds for the border wall, demanding eminent domain and promising pardons, whilst the precious 'Southern White House' is obliterated?

It would solve the bedbug problems, to be sure.

Not so fast bunky, Trump, according to the SCOTUS, can use the military funds allotted to the Military (how does this make us safe?) only IF congress agrees to replenish those funds; They will NOT! Only congress can allocate money, not the SCOTUS and surely not the POSOTUS! (Piece of shit of the united states.) However, should he really be so desperate to fulfill his primary promise he could always have Mexico pay for it. I am fine with that.

It was fortunate that the storm ("A category five - which no one has ever heard of...category five, very powerful.") did not make landfall in Florida, nor did it reach your neck of the woods - the posturing, pathological defensiveness of the Russian-Love-Doll-in-Chief notwithstanding.

Good luck with the tariffs, the wall and the destruction of federalism as we know it.

Meanwhile the better angels of humanity will address the catastrophic destruction in the Bahamas, as they continue to do in Puerto Rico and Panama City, and we are all relieved that we have been spared the ridiculous spectacle of Trump throwing out rolls of paper towels to the masses in Birmingham.

And hopefully the automakers will make an affordable electric car with a decent range. We need to get away from oil and gas. I just can't afford a 75,000 dollar Tesla. When I can buy an electric car for the same price as my gas stingy subcompact I will drive one. But we desperately need charging stations everywhere to make the transition to electric cars.
