GTFO.
"The strongest hurricane to ever make landfall in the Florida Panhandle, as well as the fourth-strongest landfalling hurricane in the United States mainland by wind speed."
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurricane_Michael
And this is what the leader of our country is up to today - hobnobbing with fucking Kanye West.
A rally last night in Pennsylvania because he could not disappoint the tribe, and now this.
There is no bottom to the ridiculousness.
We have really jumped the shark. It's all about the fucking spectacle.
Maybe "Yeezy" can help Trump throw out paper towels to the victims.
Midterm elections are in 26 days. Please vote, people.

C.J. Hopkins wrote:On November 6, 2018, Americans will be returning to the polls to exercise their inalienable right to choose between two corporate-financed, ruling class-vetted political stooges competing for the chance to pretend to represent them in the House of Representatives and the Senate, and in various gubernatorial, municipal, and somewhat lesser distinguished chambers. A selection of non-ruling-class-vetted candidates will also appear on a handful of ballots. Americans will be free to vote for such candidates, as long as they realize they are just wasting their time, and possibly damaging the “serious” candidates, which the corporate media will remind them they are doing at every available opportunity.
Seriously folks, who are you voting for, but even more importantly, why?

Well at least you weren't citing Zerohedge.com - but the Unz Review . . . ?
Let's have a look:
Here is your source material:
http://www.unz.com/article/please-remember-not-to-vote/
Here is but one objective analysis of that source and its founder:
https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/the-unz-report/
Here is a bit more about its founder:

You might as well have quoted Carlin:
“I don't vote. Two reasons. First of all it's meaningless; this country was bought and sold a long time ago. The shit they shovel around every 4 years *pfff* doesn't mean a fucking thing. Secondly, I believe if you vote, you have no right to complain. People like to twist that around – they say, 'If you don't vote, you have no right to complain', but where's the logic in that? If you vote and you elect dishonest, incompetent people into office who screw everything up, you are responsible for what they have done. You caused the problem; you voted them in; you have no right to complain. I, on the other hand, who did not vote, who in fact did not even leave the house on election day, am in no way responsible for what these people have done and have every right to complain about the mess you created that I had nothing to do with.”
The difference is that George Carlin was a comedian, and shit like this is not funny:
https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/tw ... 8b5876a464
Finally:
"What we cannot achieve at the ballot box we may ultimately find achievable through civil war."
Oh - and Modern Roots is still a dumbfuck inbred cracker who likely hangs out at shopping malls and trolls underage girls.
Your move, gentlemen.

Succinctly put slither and thanks for commenting. I was going for searing satire and apparently you weren't seared, sorry he didn't live up to Carlin's comedy, but it was satire i was looking for, not comedy. Hopefully, you're not in the same pot as sears, with what you find searing?
You're quite correct the huffington post story is scary, but scarier still is trump's reaction to the saudi's killing of a washington post columnist.
Imho, voting for either major political party is a waste of time and it's frustrating to see so few votes for the independents i might choose. I believe the majority of the electorate vote willy nilly once they've closed the curtain in the booth and feeling like Oz himself and upon leaving smugly believe they've done their civic duty.
slither wrote:Finally:

Doesn't need to take a civil war, with all that additional bloodshed. A much better way would be thru our Constitution and the states seceding from the union, lawfully, thru lawful elections at the state and local levels.

it’s alleged 1 in 6 people go hungry daily, stateside .
regarding the effects of that blow spoken of . post landfall, those hunger numbers would have trended upwards for 24/48hrs at least . smh .
it was heartwarming to read, pennswoods was able to supply nourishment for a few . you just know those two ate doing this political stunt . have read, trump puts ketchup on steak and kenny into fried yardbird . bill and hill frequented a restaurant down in deep amish country, back when .
speaking of eating . seems i have a coon that’s been destroying my suet feeder regularly, of late . it’s live trap time . anyone have any need for a coon?
and yes, our never ending election cycle is upon us again . so, do your duty great or small, do it well or not at all and please eat . note to self, it may be wise to avoid ground meats from MbS land at this time .

No, I don't have any need for a coin. But thanks anyway.
What happened? Did you get stoned and decide to post? Reads like word salad. Funny stuff though. I'll be sure to eat.

SC fired shots on fort Sumpter. Violence usually begets more violence, but especially when the greater force is the one provoked. Historically, human nature, isn't it?
Secession can be performed constitutionally thru peaceful, lawful elections. Enough states secede from the union and it'd put the feds on the spot. The feds would no doubt put up a fight to save their own, but by then their fight would be from an abundance of desperation, not power.
One problem, imo, are the willie nillies who are satisfied with a society that allows them to spend freely into deep debt, coupled with more consumption than they can handle. What's not to love? One in six might be having problems, SP, however the other five are partying like there's no tomorrow. It might be crass, but it seems to keep the economy humming, until it doesn't. I doubt true political change will be coming to this country any time soon, but i used to say that about legalized cannabis too, so who knows? Anything can happen in america, eh?

Secession will never happen. Mass civil unrest is far more likely.
When we have a federal system dominated by one political party, and that party cuts taxes on the wealthiest of citzens and corporations then turns around and tries to claim it is SS, Medicare and Medicaid spending that is at the heart of our deficit, people should see through the charade.
Unfortunately, this is not the result.
An educated and healthy society is a more viable and sustainable society - but when the human psyche is so readily receptive to an "us vs. them" dichotomy, based on ignorance and fear created by that same party who chokes revenue then blames social protections designed to serve the greater good of all, this is what it comes to.
It will get worse.
But will it ever get better?
I have disdain and contempt for both polital parties. The unaffiliated middle is the key.

I'd rather my position on the unaffiliated left. America needs more socialism.

Any secession being attempted by the states would certainly appear to be mass civil unrest by the feds.
slither wrote:I have disdain and contempt for both polital parties.
You are certainly not alone. Chapman University does an annual poll of american's greatest fears...
Chapman University wrote:For the fourth year in a row the top fear of Americans is corrupt government officials. And as in the previous four years, the fear that our government is corrupt far exceeds all others we asked about. Nearly 3/4 of Americans said they are afraid or very afraid of corrupt governmental officials in 2018. By comparison, the next highest level of fear was more than 10 points lower at 61.6% (pollution of oceans, rivers and lakes).

Trying to take on one of the more powerful militaries on the planet with civil unrest would seem to me, to be an unfettered waste of our 'unaffiliated middle'.
Better to reach change thru peaceful as possible political resolve.
