Medical Marijuana in Oklahoma
Medical Marijuana in Oklahoma
It finally will come to a vote on Tuesday in OkieDokie land.
It might have happened a couple years ago except for
Scott Pruitt`s(Trumps embattled jet-set EPA head & former Okie A.G.)
dishonest meddling.
The courts finally corrected his misstatements,
and then Gov. Mary Fallin moves the vote from November to late June
in an attempt to lessen voter turnout...
...so at least we get to vote this time.
Now, if it passes, thanks to fuckhead shyster legislators that make a living undermining
the wishes of their constituents, there will be absolutely no way to regulate it
without going into a special session.
...so at least we get to vote this time.
Only time will tell if these knuckle dragging fuck tools will pull some other fast one.
We are mostly for Making America Great Again down here after all.
One thing I`m optimistic about.
My 93 yr old mom is going to vote YES!

Be sure to have her do the Crab Dab Challenge before heading to the polls.
A Brown Trout would be a suitable Oklahoma substitute, however.

Good luck Rudy, I hope it passes! One thing that I can guarantee will happen, they will drag out the details of regulation to delay the outcome for as long as possible.

Yeah. I`m sure some righteous individual will include some little legal bon bon like
"Must present death certificate at time of application for license".
That sounds like a joke, but you would be surprised at some of the crap that
goes as standard procedure down here.
Fucking Victorian era politics.
No wonder there`s so many Trumpites here.

Lol! I had to Google that one.
Fooking hilarious.
Naw, mom would never touch the stuff or smoke anything for that matter.
Probably part of the reason she`s 93.
But even an old schooler like she can see the disastrous effect of the War on Drugs
and the money bail jail system. She just wants to try to put it right.
We had a nice chat about legalizing recreational as well and everything cannabis.
She said: "I won`t cancel out your vote this time".

Today is the day Oklahoma votes on whether or not to
legalize Medical Marijuana and regulate it.
And fuck you Scott Pruitt. Dick.

OKLAHOMA CITY - from Tulsa Channel 6
"Medical marijuana will be legal in the state of Oklahoma.
Voters have passed State Question 788.
The measure was a hotly debated issue and was a factor in driving up voter turnout during the primary election.
It will make it legal to grow, sell and use marijuana for medicinal purposes. Law enforcement, business, political and faith leaders launched a late, half-million-dollar campaign to defeat it.
A State Question 788 advocacy group said they received numerous reports “of trickery” at polling sites where voters are not given a second ballot with the state question on it unless they ask for it.
Due to the vague language, a special session is expected to be called in the near future so the legislature can define the regulations for the new law.
Gov. Mary Fallin will announce the date for the special session."

So I reckon you DO smoke marijuana in Muskogee...a place where even squares can have a ball
Re: Medical Marijuana in Oklahoma
Final numbers:
State Question 788 Medical Marijuana
Yes 506,782
57%
No 384,872
43%
I am pleased with the outcome of the vote, but we still have a way to go.
We have an absolute Luddite legislature full of short sighted corrupt career conservative politicians,
along with a vindictive, pro status quo, soon to be history Governor who will call a special session
just to tinker with this law.
Apparently this draft was written with a little wiggle room for interpretation by lawmakers.
That could be a good thing, but with a right wing loaded legislature, it could be a total cluster fuck like
Education, highways, business...everything else in this severely red state.

Excellent! You may find a better selection of clones in CO the first year. Try Do Si Dos and Grease Monkey if you can find them.

Thank you. We will definitely be looking for advice and strain info.
We would be looking for a large yield(duh) plant that would grow well in
large containers outdoors in the searing Oklahoma heat.
Being legal, irrigation wouldn`t be a problem, but blazing sun and heat
are a definite factor.
(Looks like I need to start a Cannabis Gardner thread!)

We experience temperatures in the 90s and low 100s throughout most of July, August and the first half of September here. As long as the plants are well watered, you're fine. Above 95 degrees cannabis plants are just existing, growth occurs below 95 and even lower for some strains. The more hours of direct sunlight, the better, but you want at least 9 hours. Mine get 12½ to 13. Google Subcool's super soil recipe. Amend your soil about a month before you're ready to use it. Consider starting a compost pile to make your own soil. Okay, I'll shut up now.
Re: Medical Marijuana in Oklahoma
Fingers crossed. The State Health Dept. is voting on proceedures, etc. right now.
From Tulsa News Channel 6:
The State Board of Health will vote on emergency rules to regulate medical marijuana. The Oklahoma Board of Health will vote at 11 a.m. on everything from who can issue a license, to who can sell it and how.
Oklahomans for Health, the group that led the petition drive to get State Question 788 on the ballot, worked closely with the health department in crafting the emergency rules.
The group says it agrees with the rules for the most part but says there are some big issues - including a limit on THC content.
"Most of the medical marijuana strains run between 15 and 25 percent THC, so that's pretty standard average," said Chip Paul, Oklahomans for Health.
"Again that's not something we need to regulate. That's something nature determines about a plant. Let's identify it properly, give you the proper data to insure your safety - let's not cap it."

Several medical organizations, including the Oklahoma State Medical Association, say they want pharmacists to be in dispensaries, a limit on the number and location of dispensaries, and they don't want smokable products to be sold.
"In these forms the product contains hundreds of unknown active chemicals - all of which can pose health hazards to both the smokers and those around," said Dr. Leroy Young, D.O., Oklahoma Osteopathic Association.
Here are the 20 rules up for consideration:
1. All recommendations for a patient to receive a medical marijuana license must be made by an Oklahoma Board Certified Physician. Only physicians who are licensed by either the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision, or the Oklahoma Board of Osteopathic Examiners and meet the requirements of the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision or the Oklahoma Board of Osteopathic Examiners to hold themselves out as “Board Certified” are eligible to make a recommendation for medical marijuana.
2. All physicians who plan to make recommendations for medical marijuana must register with the Department prior to making medical marijuana recommendations.
*3. All patients receiving a recommendation from their physician for medical marijuana must have that recommendation reviewed by their physician at least annually. Additionally, physicians must screen for substance abuse, mental health issues, and whether the patient presents a risk for the diversion of marijuana prior to making a recommendation for medical marijuana.
*4. Pregnancy tests are required before a physician makes recommendation for medical marijuana to female of childbearing years. The rules require the physician to consider a woman’s pregnancy status and the potential risk to an unborn child when recommending medical marijuana to a pregnant woman.
*5. Recommendations for medical marijuana for minor patients must be made by either a pediatrician or one a physician with a board certification in a pediatric specialty.
*6. Patient license holders can appoint a caregiver if they are unable to ambulate or meet other criteria. The caregiver will receive a license from the Department and may obtain medical marijuana from the dispensary on behalf of the patient. All patient and caregiver licenses are valid for two years, subject to restrictions.
7. All patient license holders are eligible to home grow their own marijuana subject to the limitations on amounts imposed by the state question. All home grown medical marijuana must be behind a fence under lock and key and not visible from any street.
8. Medical marijuana may be sold in smokable form, but the same restrictions on public consumption of tobacco will be applied to marijuana.
9. All transporters of medical marijuana must have a transport license.
10. Per state statutory requirements, all growers, processors and dispensaries must register with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs as due to the fact that marijuana is a ‘controlled dangerous substance’ under the law.
*11. All dispensaries will be required to have a Dispensary Manager who will dispense medical marijuana, advise patients, track inventory, and ensure the dispensing of medical marijuana complies with the applicable rules.
*12. Individuals/entities may own/operate a dispensary, processor, and growing operation. They are not restricted to one establishment.
*13. Listed requirements for dispensers, processors, and growers when advertising medical marijuana.
*14. Listed requirements for Inventory control/tracking of medical marijuana for all dispensaries, processors, and growers.
*15. Listed requirements and guidelines for the processing of medical marijuana both by the licensed processor, as well as the patient who chooses to process their own marijuana.
*16. Medical marijuana grown by a commercial grower can only be grown indoors.
17. Stringent testing requirements for all processed marijuana and medical marijuana products.
18. Stringent labeling requirements for all medical marijuana products sold at a dispensary.
19. A single serving of a medical marijuana product processed or dispensed shall not exceed ten (10) milligrams active tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) Medical marijuana products and Medical Marijuana Concentrate processed or dispensed shall have a THC content of not more than twelve percent (12%). Mature marijuana plants shall have a THC content of not more than twenty percent (20%).
20. Standards for the disposal of unused medical marijuana and medical marijuana waste.
Lets hope they don`t fuck it up.

They did pass some new laws though and liquor will flow

I can just see the alcohol fueled Indian uprisings we`re going to have now.
