This makes no sense

Let's assume you have 5,000 police officers and I order 5,000 guns and hand them out. How do more guns suddenly appear in the communities?

Careful farty.
The never ending gun debate distorts the very foundations of reality for all who engage in it.

How so?

That's exactly it!

Guns breed guns.

:-)

How will citizens get guns if only police have guns and you don't change laws? The only new guns would be ones provided to police.

lol. Criminals have ways and means, as you well know.

There is a massive difference in peoples attitude to deadly weapons across the atlantic divide. Us, on this side of the pond, just can't believe how screwed the US is with weapons. More guns than people in the US. We have very low gun murders here. The argument of holding arms to prevent tyranny is just bullshit.

In America yes, explain how they get guns in Britain when there are no guns to be had. Wouldn't today's terrorists already have obtained guns to maximize the death toll if they could?

Theoretically, yes.

But the criminals, the drug dealers, the terrorists already have guns and will only bring them out from the woodwork more and more if the law uses/carries them too.

I have to agree with everything that JG says.

:-)

If you could put back the clock wouldn't you people over the pond create different gun laws? Surely you would?

I think cops with less guns is a good idea but it wouldn't work in America.

American cops refuse to engage in hand to hand combat because they're lazy and fat and it's to challenging for them to take perps on with their bare hands. They pull their weapon early now as it's easier and they don't want to get their uniforms dirty.

Really?

They would rather take a life than take a jacket to the dry cleaners?

That's appalling

Old Bill tazed a blind bloke in Preston recently when they "mistook" his white stick for a samurai sword!

It not a good idea to give guns to bell ends with double digit IQs!

I can't speak for all of course but for me the answer is no.

:-)

Interesting, why? Shouldn't the people you count on to protect you have the ability to defend you and themselves?

Because the British are not gun-fellating fear merchants.

And so, the space/time/reality fabric cinches and knots as it tumbles outward in all directions in its multidimensional desperate attempt to escape two inescapable opposing forces...

during this uk unrest . two opposing gun views from the same town, on how the public could help .

* Devon and Cornwall police and crime commissioner, Alison Hernandez, suggests gun owners could be ‘part of our solution’ to stopping rural terror attacks
* deputy chief constable of Devon and Cornwall police . ‘Under no circumstances would we want members of the public to arm themselves with firearms. Our message to the public is a simple one: to run, to hide and to tell.’

as has been proven many times in America, it's a very short step from getting the guns out to fend off an armed attack to lets take the shooters to town and do something about those cunts we don't like.

it's mainly farmers who have legal guns here and then it's usually just a shotgun. i'm more interested in what would happen if local gangsters took a few pot shots at terrorists during an incident. no cunt has a legal hand gun in this country but there are one or two lads in most towns with a pistol down his arse.

as far as i'm concerned, no to arming the filth and a fucking massive no to armed citizenry.

the idea of a terrorist attack in bude town centre seems a bit far fetched to me.

What UK unrest?

What is it with redneck American gun owners and their wank fantasies about standing up to "terrorists" ?

the commissioner suggesting gun owners could be ‘part of our solution’, surprised me .
thanks for clarifying, i had no idea how your gun laws work .
actually, i was a little surprised the subject was even broached .

I was ready to go on a killing spree by the end of the second week!

You trot out a completely fabricated false Hillary quote from our present day proto fascist Trump propaganda machine and then don't apologize for it and justify doing so because some rude brits have the temerity to say bad things about your hero Maggie Thatcher?

Then there is your quoting white nationalist douchebags like Rep. Steve King and Geert Wilders because you fear that demographics are destiny and that foreigner's babies are a threat to your white culture or what ever culture it is you feel is threatened. That's pretty fucked up.

Now you state that there is apparently some sort of sinister "unrest" in the UK which broaches the subject how perhaps it would be good to arm the citizenry so they can protect themselves from some threat you're concerned about. Jihadi's is it?

You get justifiably criticized and so you take another strategy from the Trump playbook by attacking the person taking you to task for your posts? Way to go man. Yes, you should give up.
