Only violence inauguration day was made by agitators that were not connected to the protest movement.

proud of my peeps made my heart sing. I dislike crowds...but never have been in such a respectful, conscious groups of human being while marching in NYC.

Here are numbers from 100 of the 600-700 cities involved in today’s Women’s March opposing Trumpism. (Sources vary from police to organizer estimates to media estimates.)

What they all seem to have in common—as we're all aware by now—is that more people—typically FAR MORE—showed up than expected. In addition to the 500,000 to 680,000 in D.C., the 400,000 in NYC and the 250,000 in Chicago, there are these:

100,000+ in Denver (Denver Post)
60,000 in Atlanta (police estimate)
40,000-50,000 in Austin, Texas (Austin American-Statesman)
750,000 in Los Angeles (Los Angeles Times)
100,000 in Portland, Oregon (The Oregonian)
5-10,000 in Augusta, Maine: (police estimate and organizers’ estimate} 600 in Augusta, Georgia (WRDW)
15,000 in Cleveland: (police estimate)

75,000-100,000 in Madison, Wisconsin: (Channel 3000)
8,000 in Dallas (police estimate)
6,000 in Santa Fe, New Mexico (organizers’ estimate)

Please add numbers from where you marched today and I will add them to this list.

Now, all we need to do to convert the millions who showed up today into an ongoing effort to topple Trump, Trumpism and the politics that put this fascist crew into office.

Bev attended the march in Ashland, OR. I'm very proud of her. Their biggest concern? Having enough porta potties for all the women!

seems one of the organizers of this march was linda sarsour . a big proponent of state side sharia law . are you sympathetic with her? does her belief shine a good light on your cause?

in the real world, that liberal thinking doesn't fly with the Q's, not when the cause is seeking a sympathetic ear from the public . history shows, especially recent, movements are identified by their leaders past and those past aspirations are always scrutinized and painted on the movements identity .

That would be hypocritical not to, of course. Speaking of hypocrites, where was this same solidarity when another piece of crap was using his influence to get young female interns under his desk at the Oval Office? Republican sexism = bad, Democrat sexism = Ok.

I'm not afraid of Sharia Law so her apparent belief in it doesn't offend me as much as the usual Muslim bashing and old fashioned paternalism.

Trump followers fear these women........

Being a ninth wave feminist, I can tell that statement reeks of white patriarchy.

'movements are identified by their leaders past and those past aspirations are always scrutinized and painted on the movements identity' .
here's another view, her opinion is no more important than anyone else's who attended, but she has a bigger soapbox and delves into background, that information may or may not be important in the bigger foto, but it needs noted .

the muslim march organizer has no problem with all of us living the lives we choose, in the manner we choose
her rules are not my rules

What you can't seem to comprehend is that if she was in the position to enforce her rules, she would, that's how the world works outside your bubble.

Of course he isn't, he ran against almost everything you believe is right. The country is divided down the middle and the other guy won the election. Don't be looking for anything on your agenda to be on Trump's radar. No surprise here.

I also believe that Hillary didn't stand for the beliefs of true progressives either, and what they think is right. That's why people that refer to themselves as progressives, and then vote for the usual pick the turd candidate offered by the same old same old, are hypocrites. The biggest reason we are in this mess is no real choices. A real progressive would never vote for either or. Third parties must become viable by getting support. To me, some progressives are depressives.

We have the same problem on this side of the pond! Realistically, you have to pick between 2 steaming piles of shit or feel that you're wasting your vote!

I've always been opposed to the idea of proportional representation, but the older (and hopefully wiser) I get the more I'm sure it would be a better way of attaining a truly fair and democratic political system!

Looks like you're going to have to learn the hard way!

The EU is doomed! ... It's only a matter of time before it falls apart, and the minnow countries like Ireland are going to get savagely fucked over by the French and the Germans!

Don't say you weren't warned!

Surely progress is for people to work together, thats what the EU is about.

Britain has excluded itself from the project. No longer a leader but a petulant, selfish, arrogant nation.

I'd say 'escaped from' is a more accurate description!

You'll be crying in your Guinness when the Euro goes tits up and you're forced to print your own money that isn't worth the paper it's printed on!

Im very surprised that the pound is still stronger than the Euro and the dollar. On what basis? I expect once Brexit is announced the pound will be in the shit.

I'm waiting for Scotland to have another referendum and seek independence. N.I will be very interesting then.
Soon it will just be England and Wales.

The City will be hamstrung and suffer dreadfully, with major corporate hubs moving their European HQ's to Ireland/ France/ Germany. The North of England and Wales, who have no industry anyway will be even worse off.

We'll be able to run rings round the rest of the EU once we're unshackled from the bureaucracy and corruption we're currently hobbled with!

Anything they can offer big business, we can undercut or offer more lucrative deals!
