I would think any student of European history, especially of WW I and WW II could tell you a major result of both wars
was the redrawing of maps in the middle east (and eastern europe). For example, Israel did not exist prior to the
end of WW II.

I have often wondered if Israel had not been created after WW II, what the world would look like today, and would the middle east have as much conflict as it does today.

The information contained in this article indicates that even if Israel did not exist in today's world, the middle east would still
be a battleground. Simply too many religions and too many ethnic groups competing for the same land.
