If Hillary Had Selected Bernie

Postby slither » Sun Jul 31, 5:37 pm

She would win in a landslide, and the country would have been the better for it.

Tim Kaine?

More evidence of the same bullshit.

She will win in a landslide against the monster that is DJT even with Goofy as her VP pick.

Its a subordinate role when you're VP. Kaine is non threatening. Bernie has power and influence of his own and the support to back it up.

See what I mean?

You prove my point, Jack.

Not necessarily, Cat.

Non-threatening to whom?

Among whom, exactly, does Bernie have power and influence?

But to your credit, your response is at least thoughtful; rather than the reactionary bullshit of a Hillary shill.

Non threatening to Hillary obviously. Why would you choose a running mate that might upstage you. Bernie is kinda like Eugene McCarthy back in 1968. Much loved and revered by younger voters and assorted non establishment types. They don't come along frequently.
Quite frankly Hillary is loathed mostly due to decades of negative right wing role assignment. We all get assigned negative roles by others don't we. Its benefits the others doing the assigning after all. But all that is just grist for the mill in politics.

Laughable "analysis". "Quite frankly Hillary is loathed mostly due to decades of negative right wing role assignment"?

Hillary is loathed ONLY because of this?

There are MILLIONS of democrats who don't like her. And it aint all because of the right wing conspiracy.

She doesn't play well with others. She is not a naturally gifted politician like her husband.

To blame her negatives simply on the BS "right wing conspiracy" is absolutely ridiculous.

You cannot be this dense. Hillary is not much different than Trump in a major way.
They are BOTH their own worst enemies.

Not so fast.

"Despite strong showings in several primaries — indeed, he won more votes than any other Democratic candidate — McCarthy garnered only 23 percent of the delegates at the 1968 Democratic National Convention, largely due to the control of state-party organizations over the delegate-selection process."

Sound familiar? And who prevailed in 1968?

Exactly.

Also: Bernie is not a Democrat. The DNC would never consider him as their leader. But they want his supporters in the name of "party unity."

More than non-threatening to Hillary, Kaine is a corporatist just like Hillary. From Virginia, where another Clintonista, Terry McAuliffe, can be counted on to appoint a Democrat to replace him.

Why couldn't Hillary best Obama in 2008?

Same reason - Hillary is roundly disliked and not trusted.

And for the record, counselor: Cat did at least post something coherent and thoughtful.

Please proceed.

There are hordes of bible thumping GOP'ers who actually believe she is a true agent of Satan. She'll get my vote for that reason alone.

That allowed you to slip into eight years of brother Obama's lies without a hitch. Although Obama started in 07 leading up to the election.

A succinct expression of the one-party democracy in disguise that is USMANIA 2016. Although I wouldn't be too quick to absolve Hilldawg of her share of brainmangle either.

It would be a draw. America takes a few steps back no matter who wins. Hillary in a landslide though.

The worldwide disaster that would be a trump presidency bears no resemblance to what HRC will do. There is no equivalency here.

This isn't a pissing contest and you have no idea what happens down the road Kreskin (for those of you under 50 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kreskin)

You win, Hillary is the better candidate by far but she still sucks ass. It's not just me Bo, it's all over the Internets.

You've lumbered yourselves with a typical British dilemma! ... A choice between two steaming piles of shit!

We're used to it over here! ... Come to expect it, in fact!
