Alabama set to legalize medical marijuana

The state House and Senate voted to legalize medical marijuana. Now it goes to the Governor's desk for her signature! It's almost here!

But, there is a catch, no toking or smoking. The law will only allow pills and edibles. What a bummer! I mean, who does that? Don't they know people want to toke? I'm a little disappointed.

Plus, it's only allowed for 12 medical conditions. It's going to be almost impossible to get a medical marijuana card! And if you get one, you'll be forced to consume edibles since smoking the plant will still be illegal and not allowed under our medical marijuana law!!

Depression is the only mental illness that will allow for a medical marijuana card. And I'm not depressed so how will I get a card? And I don't know where to begin looking for a doctor that will give out medical marijuana cards. I know my physician of 25 years won't be handing out cards. I'll have to find a new doctor and tell them I'm depressed! What a crock of shit. Marijuana should be legal, plain and simple. The pains and tribulations of a pot smoker!!

And I'm wondering, will I get the same feeling from an edible that I would from smoking?

And to add insult to injury, the state lawmakers made medical marijuana something that is NOT covered by insurance so I'll have to come out of pocket for edibles should I ever be able to obtain a card.

It's almost like we have nothing here. It's a non starter for me. Hard to get to excited about edibles only. And even more depressing knowing my insurance won't pay for any of it. Who ever heard of prescription medicine that insurance won't cover? Pathetic!!

Unfortunately, gummies and edibles aren't allowed under our law. But I don't know about the tincture. I'll have to check somehow. I think the primary means of medicine will be THC pills. But, who wants a pill? Are the THC pills any good? Ever tried them?
