Colorado funds medical marijuana research, a first

Postby sdshadow » Thu Dec 18, 12:44 am

Colorado will spend more than $8 million researching marijuana's medical potential — a new frontier because government-funded marijuana research traditionally focuses on the drug's negative health effects.

The grants awarded by the Colorado Board of Health will go to studies on whether marijuana helps treat epilepsy, brain tumors, Parkinson's disease and post-traumatic stress disorder. Some of the studies still need federal approval.

Though the awards are relatively small, researchers say they're a big step forward. While several other federal studies currently in the works look at marijuana's health effects, all the Colorado studies are focused on whether marijuana actually helps.

The FDA was bought and paid for eons ago, but one might wonder where NIH is on this medical research?

Another myth busted. Science will win the day.

Chronic marijuana use by teens found innocent of causing mental and physical health issues later in life. . .

An August 3, 2015 report conducted by the American Psychological Association, which closely monitored nearly 400 long-term male adolescent pot smokers nearly 20 years ago, has discovered that prolonged marijuana use in no way is connected with problematic health issues discovered later in life.

According to Jordan Bechtold, PhD “What we found was a little surprising.”

The postdoctoral fellow at Pittsburgh University’s Medical Center noted, “There were no differences in any of the mental or physical health outcomes that we measured regardless of the amount of frequency of marijuana used during adolescence.”

In America there is a marijuana bust every 45 seconds and 88% are for possession. What a fucking disgrace.

It's no wonder the Feds continue the lie and idiots still support the drug war to fund this jobs program. Private prisons should be illegal.

Medical marijuana research is a waste of time and money. Marijuana will not cure diseases such as cancer or liver disease or kidney failure. IMO, people continue to smoke marijuana because of the way it makes them feel. People don't smoke joints to feel sober. It's the altered state people like.

put your head back in your ass.

you know nothing about it and your opinion about what marijuana can do means nothing.

or maybe you can just tell the countless kids who have reduced or eliminated their seizure meds
and the hundreds of others who have had cancer remissions that you don't think marajuana cures disease and research is unnecessary

I've got a cousin dying from liver disease, marijuana won't cure her.

I live in the real world on things like this.

People smoke weed for the way it makes them feel.

No need for taxes and medical research. If you like weed then enjoy it. Just drop all your qualifiers for it and get real.

if nothing else, marijuana acts as an anti-emetic! Everyone who drinks and smokes must have noticed a spliff makes you feel miles better when you've got a hangover?

Peace, Des.

I read the whole article. Doesn't prove a thing for medical marijuana, just as I said.

A lot of Dr.'s prescribe worthless pills. Just because a Dr. won't prescribe marijuana doesn't mean the Dr. won't prescribe an equally meaningless pill in its place. I can think of a lot of pills that have no real medical value.
None of this changes the fact that marijuana will NOT cure any and all diseases.

Half a joint does me just fine.
I've learned over the years how to budget for weed. And I've already told you umpteen times there isn't enough difference between the $20gram and $30 quarter. I already put he taste test on them. Greedy bastid!

Upload your pics to a free photo sharing site like Photobucket.

Someone has to use up bandwidth to display your photo on the internet, and they have kindly offered to do that for free.
(They will try to sell you Photo Services and shit, no biggie...)

Then get their image code from the pic and post it here.
Make sure you allow BBCode under "Edit Posting Defaults" in your User Control Panel by your profile tab here at Channels.

You have to sign up to the site, but its pretty easy to wade through
and worth the time after you get signed up.
anonymous too, just use a fake name and gmail account if you want.

Good Luck.

Or tinypic, no membership required and you can have it done and on line in about a minute.

This is the end of some Bazooka Joe Bubblegum, a good deal at $30/-1/4.

Image

If any of you get an opportunity to get or grow Gorilla Glue, don't hesitate. THC at around 25% lab tested and maybe my all time favorite strain.

Oh and this... We now have "Gas and Grass" in town. Fill up the tank and then pick up some flower, eatables, oil, or shatter.

They do not sell oil for your car however.

I have been enjoying Gorilla Glue #4 (23.65%) and Girl Scout Cookies - Berner cut (24.85%) from my favorite local dispensary.

And growing it for yourself makes it a lot cheaper than $30 a quarter. That's why I support legal marijuana without all the regulations and taxes.

Do you make your own liquor, grow your own tobacco, shoot and clean your own food? Of course it would be cheaper you dumb-ass. I prefer to have people grow it for me.

A couple of questions OF. Do you know how the 'taxes' work for the commercial growers of cannabis in Co.? Are tax amounts deducted from what they're selling the dispensaries, or are the outlets the only ones responsible for taxes? Also wondering if it's still an all cash business, or have they figured away around federal banking laws?

Well, OF, rest assured, we'd have a local grower with your name as a customer. Ready to make a fortune at $30 quarters. Come visit sometime.
