Clearly I'm not.

Let me clarify then... no one here that I know dislikes you, including me.

Why are you concerned about putting your website on here???

Denver does this right. We never miss it. The Chihuahua races are a riot. Amazing cars, food, music and 400,000 happy people over the two days.

You're celebrating cinco de mayo on the wrong date. I'd say Denver definitely missed it.

It's great the city of Denver can do stuff for those kids on the weekend, especially after a jittery week in the Denver school system.

NBC News wrote:A suburban Denver school district is arming its security staff with military-style semiautomatic rifles in case of a school shooting or other violent attack, a move that appears unprecedented even as more schools arm employees in response to mass violence elsewhere.

The guards, who are not law enforcement officers, already carry handguns.

Fookin hell! No way in hell I would allow my kids to go to school on one of those. Who's to say those fucks won't go off? What training do they have? Very disturbing.

Another Gas and Grass is opening soon nearby. So convenient to fill up with gas and grab an oz. in one stop.

Key words: "Opening Soon".

That must be the default when you plug in the sign for the first time.

I notice they haven`t diversified and tapped into the "Ass" market yet.

Just give it time, they`ll figure it out...

Out of La Veta Colorado, this was taken on the Rio Grande Scenic Railroad. The starlight express.

Wtf. How could that be? Surely there would be too much smog and such to see so deep into space. Is that with a special lense or scope or something? That looks insane.

thanks to the EPA smog isn't the problem that it once was. Light pollution masks views like this near cities...MHD obviously isn't real near one.

One of the things most of humanity has lost. The ability to see the night sky like this. It was a local photographer that took this photo with a quality camera. He was set up on a tripod and did an 8 second open shutter to capture it like this. At 7000 feet above sea level and no light pollution from big cities this really is the view most nights. I never get tired of it and invested in a low end telescope to look deeper. Works great looking at the mountain and neighbors too.

We don't get quite as nice a view of the Milky Way here, but we do see it. It appears more like a cloud here. The oddest part is we aren't close to any major sources of light pollution, we are quite rural, maybe because we are only at an altitude of 1100 feet? I should have Bev take a picture of it using your friend's technique and see if it reveals more.

there must be bits of Ireland where you can see that sort of sky. the place is full of mountains and clean air, isn't it?

My best night sky views were from the deck of an aircraft carrier near Samoa (has anyone seen the Southern Cross?) and from the northwest corner of Nevada when I was opal mining. Tracked the ISS from horizon to horizon one night.

Peace, Des.
