Overwhelmed by Queen's Day.

MY apologies to LUNACHIKm lctricitym & any others for my failure to show at the May 1st meeting at Greenhouse Centrum.

The nephew and me wasked around for most of the morning on Queen's Day, his last day here, just digging the vibe. What happy people!!! And SO MANY of them!!! They REALLY know how to party. GREAT weather, too. Anyway, around 15:00, we decided to head back to the hotel to rest our aching feet and rest up for an evening bout.

Now, there was music playing EVERYWHERE!!! Mostly that techno stuff with the constant THUMP-THUMP-THUMP bass background,
Turns out that The Rookies was sponsoring music for our block. Our rooms are right upstairs facing the street. I like music as much as anyone, but after 4 hours, I thought I was gonna go bonkers. But, I needed the physical rest, so I stayed.

We went out around 18:00 (to the peaceful Noon) and came back around 23:30.
The THUMP-THUMP had mercifully stopped, but it was still very noisy.

To make a long story short, we got very little sleep, got up LATE, and I got a taxi and escorted the nephew to the airport JUST in time to catch his 13:50 flight.

By the time I got back, it was after 14:30 and I was shot.
Again, my apologies for the 'no-show'. I was very disappointed.

Good to hear that you had a good Queen's Day. I was overwhelmed as well. I'm still recovering. How long are you staying in Amsterdam? I'm usually just running around the city during the day.
