Day 4

Good morning Amsterdam!
Wow we are here!

It's funny even though there was no pre planning
I still think about Amsterdam every single day
Sometimes I have to remind myself that I am not living in a fantasy in my head
This is real and we ARE here right NOW
Cool!

The sun is shining, but there is a cool breeze
The weather is more like what I remember August to be like before the heat of climate change. The last couple of years were inordinately warm.
I like it like this!

Still not too many supplies at home so it's
Breakfast at the winkle
Just one more piece of apple pie!
I like it much better without the cream.

We decide to Ride thru Westerpark this morning
Gawd, I love how the parks are planted and kept up
Because of the wild naturalness of it, you immediately get the
Sensation that you are out in some countryside instead of an urban park

I also like the subtle little work out stations
With sit up benches and pull up apparatus
And of course those little summer cottages..one day someone has
Got to let me into that gated community, just so I can marvel at these tiny estates

Left the park
And finally off to our
Amsterdam Ritual stops

This corner of the singel is a favorite
3 stops with only 1 bike lock up!

First on the list -
Puccini Bonboni
They have redesigned their store
It looks nice, but has lost a bit of that home made sensibility
Similar in the way that when amnesia was redecorated it lost a level
Of homey comfort and now is slicker. But I am happy to report they have not changed their chocolates!

Next on the list -Grey area
Only a short waiting line as we are remembered and welcomed.
We really Liked the silver bubble. Descent sativa
I was Not impressed with their kosher kush at all. Actually the best indica has come from amnesia - their pineapple chunk

Then the third stop-
Reypensyar cheese
I do love this place.
They have a new cheese and it just won the world record this week!

Best Organics vegetarian cheese --- OMG It is great!
It is a young cheese - only 6 months old
But it has great Carmel under tones and plenty of crystals
I have a new addiction!
We always get a 15% discount here since we took their cheese tasting class a couple of years ago-
Even get the discount when I order on line. I love this place!

Back to the boat to do the web work. Got it down to 60 minutes between 1pm - 4pm. Now I just have to remember to come back and do it! thankfully the mate seems to be on top of reminding me!

Finally Feels like a rhythm is settling in.

Finished the work and it begins to rain so we decided to walk over to visit Tak
(With our load of scissors )
He looks good! Commanding a beaming smile, filled with good energy and good vibes. norda has matured but still has her puppy nature
Of course plenty of smoke and stories were shared
Was good to see him

He showed me the weather app for Amsterdam that gives you a warning before the rain comes.

So the warning bells went off and it looked like a tremendous amount of rain would hit soon, so off we went with the intention of buying some food to make for dinner and hunker down inside.

As we walked and mentally created the shopping list, we wandered by Don Quixote a tapas bar in the Jordaan, down the street from cafe 137. We have passed it many times, but stopped to look this time.
Wow, Fantastic! We abruptly change our plans and decide to let someone else cook for us. There were plenty of vegetarian choices - unusual for Tapas. As we sat, the promised rain returned. But it was a light easy rain..not what the app led us to believe. By the time we were finished so was the rain. Perfect. I highly recommend this place too!

Strolled over to spirit for some Pinball
So many machines all in one place. You just do not see that anywhere any more.
Brings back memories of the broadway arcades, back in the day in NYC. I love pinball machines...not sure what the attraction is..from the look of things not many still share this attraction

Gawd I just wish they would find a way to get some air in that back room! Then it really would be perfect. There is even a new machine, that I have never seen before- Wizard of Oz - actually a nasty difficult machine with large side holes.

A final stroll in the Jordaan and the end of a perfect day. There's just something about this city. The light fixtures, those tiny little lights that outline the bridges,
The curves and absence of straight lines...it soothes the soul......it really does!

New or used? I get tons of various ages and sizes. Sometimes I bag them up and sell them. Or individual if sterling etc.
