Yeah generous J - I was being generous-though  I understand your with holding sympathy.. Total disclosure with the suitcases- I was doing Tak a favor and bringing 10 pounds of merchandise for him....he requested it -  was worried about the weight, thinking we always travel close to the weight limit- but I decided my worry was just a reflection of the over stressed self.  Didn't give myself any credit.  Anyway - it probably would have been cheaper for him to have had them shipped.  So much for a helpful favor. Though, It could have been worse with a $200.  Charge!
Day 2
Woke to a beautiful morning
Feeling better, little weak
Punched in the gut weak
But what the heck, am better than I was! And we are here.
Apple pie and cafe Au lait at the winkle on the corner.
Holiday food! Yippee.
It is a beautiful Amsterdam morning
Warm sun
Soft breeze
Blue skies dotted with puffs of white
Grabbed the dog and took a walk to Paradox
The place was filled with tourists (ha, like I'm not one!)
Williem, a retired Dutch postal machinist from the southern Netherlands, now living in the Jordaan sat down with us and the conversation of politics and religion was initiated. His accent was thick and sometimes he was a bit difficult to follow especially as he went on and on about the momo's. I was trying so hard to pick up the thread and follow his train of thought - then I had that lightbulb moment- momo's were Mormons! Anyway he thought people from the south of the country were much friendlier and he went on to say that if Amsterdam was filled with southerners it would be a much nicer place. He then compared his southern countrymen to those Living in Appalachia in the US. Left me wondering about moving the inhabitants of Appalachia to NYC....nay. That image needs to be removed from my mind- quickly!
All in all a pleasant chat and a smooth morning
We three watched some young ones
fumbling with the volcano. They were so clueless, that finally the mate jumped in and gave them some instructions. Reminded me of the company we had that were passing around a volcano bag and thinking vamping was great, acting like they were getting really buzzed. I walked into the room and saw that the bag was still completely filled. These folks were passing the bag around, but never pushing the mouthpiece inward to actually get any vape material. Clearly getting high was ALL in their heads.
Decided to return the dog to the boat and just walk
Stopped at Greenwoods along the way for some lunch
I am not ready for a bike - heck I feel too weak to even hold one up.
We got lost roaming on the other side of the dam...and not really lost. Just took some turns and found ourselves in unfamiliar streets and alleys. Stumbled across the marionette theatre. Didn't know there was such a thing
There is a light rain
It is mooi
And I remember why we have returned
Not yet prepared to cook and deal with meal planning
We decide to go to Soen the Thai restaurant on Prinsengracht for dinner
It worked out perfectly some soup, veges and rice
We walked some more and passed by Doors and decided to walk in for our first round of pinball.
I won
Back on the boat some smoke on the porch and we wish Amsterdam sweet dreams.

You seem to think about this a lot.
