Just keep passing the open windows...

Postby tuttiflutes » Wed Sep 30, 11:32 am

"So we dream on. Thus we invent our lives. We give ourselves a sainted mother, we make our father a hero; and someone’s older brother and someone’s older sister – they become our heroes too. We invent what we love and what we fear. There is always a brave lost brother – and a little lost sister, too. We dream on and on: the best hotel, the perfect family, the resort life. And our dreams escape us almost as vividly as we can imagine them… That’s what happens, like it or not. And because that’s what happens, this is what we need: we need a good, smart bear… Coach Bob knew it all along: you’ve got to get obsessed and stay obsessed. You have to keep passing the open windows."
— John Irving (The Hotel New Hampshire)

If the guitar thing doesn’t work out there is always the RLD. Good luck in your quest.

In Key West, where I did this as a teen, it paid for my own lessons..it was tourists mainly that you we made money from...the website suggests tourists areas as well...

Although, my vast experience in food service I am well aware of who the bad tippers are. Then there are the kind souls who appreciate the gift of song....They come in all forms of Human Beings...

I don't know what it is that makes some of you yanks want to leave the US so much. It can't just be coffeeshops. You have a near continent sized country of incredible diversity and beauty on your doorstep.

Buy a camper van and go for a trip for three months. Amsterdam's for holidays - if you lived there you'd most likely get bored and fixate on another place.

There's loads of history, but not all of it's European. The MOMA in NYC is astonishing and easily comparable with the best of London, Paris or Madrid. Culture? Well, it'll improve once Igeee reads '1984', but the US has been the cultural powerhouse of the last 100 years.

Looking to cool down? - try Wisconisn in December. Worked for me.

Thanks Woody, I have traveled and spent time in the South and ..Northeast always locked away..in sort of prison.
I love New Hampshire and Vermont, and am considering both states for a permanent move...I also like the Southern States of Tennessee and NC..
Why Not Amsterdam?..I really have nothing pressing keeping me where I am...and Israel is going to try and stop IRAN..We are all on borrowed time..LOL
Besides,

My family is from Europe, and lived in Amsterdam prior to coming to the USA.. and It just feels good for me when I am in there and not here..

I have been to MOMA many times..I LOVE NY...

Read it more than 20 years ago, is that why we're the powerhouse of culture? I'm impressed with myself.

Because you started a thread all about you.

Channels is full of Drama Queens.......It is also a place where friends meet in cyberspace and sometimes they even support one another during rough times...

If you want to start a flame Drama with me go ahead... I'd gladly let off steam with a Schmuck like you! (You remind me of the one I've got, and I'd like to let em have it)

I could use to let it out about now...

Birdman, where do you get your news information?

My bet is on either "The Daily show" or comic books.

Tutti, FYI.

Birdman has repeatedly shown he has -0- class on these forums.

I would hope if you knew his posting history, you would realize your statement towards him about "class" is entirely ridiculous.

Kind of like some of your statements on these forums.

Since I know Birdy personally to be a perfect gentleman on and off the internet, and he is who he is here, and sadly so am I..He is one classy, and might I say cute young man..

Which is more than I can say for you, nobody knows who you really are except that you are incredibly negative, and not what I would call a gentleman.. I have enough negativity in my life without you..so why don't you make like a tree...

I like in person Face to Face.....I look into someones eyes and I can tell if they are honest and trustworthy..

I don't lie in real life or on the internet Tutti.

I don't believe I would need to meet you in real life to find out what an ass you can be. You are doing a wonderful job of it with your written words.

I believe we could easily get along IF:

A. you stop calling me an ass.
B. You stop with these attention seeking threads.

Your choice.

This is another boring, repetitive statement you have made to several posters on this website, simply because they do not share your political views.
