the dreams are a sign

Postby patrick » Thu Aug 21, 5:09 pm

my amsterdam dreams are becoming a nightly thing and they seem so real. i am taking it as a sign to go, so once again a great coffeeshop tour of 2009 is being looked at.

in my dream last night, a guy tried to shoot me in front of grey area but his gun did not fire, he then proceeded to stab me.

Funny that, I woke up early yesterday morning after having a dream where I'd gone as a freelancer in my trade in Holland. I woke up convinced I should do it...maybe I will after my upcoming study period. I speak fluent Dutch so why not?

Looks possible then. Just watch out for double taxation.

I looked at working freelance in the Netherlands, but the risk of double taxation just wasn't worth it. I'd risk paying 80+% tax, and while that would be livable, it's not much fun.

How does that work then? I've never heard of double taxation. I've met others who work as freelancers and I've never heard them speak of unfavourable taxation. What do you do by the way, maybe that has something to do with it?

They have this Amstel commercial, sometimes I look up, I don't normally look at commercials, and there is the canals. it is very dreamlike. It was cool the other night I told my son a bit about Amsterdam during this commerical.

I find that 2 months before a trip, my entire mood shifts. Small things and even large ones don't bother or effect me as much. Soon I will be there so who cares.

Then about 3 weeks before, it's as if I am there already.

I've been having almost nightly dreams all week.

Last night, Amsterdam was flooded by a tidal wave while I was there???

I have Amsterdam dreams all the time, but this one was a whole lot more interesting

I was in Cambridge, it was a warm day but I still hung a long sleeve thermal shirt around my waiste. I was going to my dealer's house with my friend from my private middle school. We went over to the Latin dealer's house and bought a half ounce each. We then went to the health club of the dealer and showered. One of the workers at the health club recognized me and said hi, and much to my chagrin I said "Sorry I used you." We walked out of the health club and the dealer biked off. I realized we were in a casino. I lost my friend in the crowd, and I tried to make an exit from the tall building. I found a little bicycle, and carried it with me. The escalators, which had green and gold neon lights on the sides, criscrossed each other and I had to jump from one to the other, which hurt my back. I thought I would find my friend at his mothers house, in the ghetto in cambridge. I set off some kind of alarm before I boarded the escalator when I walked into the nice section of the hotel looking for an easy way out. I finally got to the ground floor after jumping down the escalator, and when I walked outside through the big glass doors, I found out that the little bike I was carrying had a peg where the front wheel was supposed to be. I walked onto a college campus which had a big sign that said "Cambridge University", and that was when things started to get scary. It started to gust and rain a little, and I saw a couple of girls skateboarding. One of them rolled down a sharp incline and fell on her head and broke her back. She was screaming for help. I checked my pockets for a cell phone, but there was nothing. I finally yelled for help and someone heard and he called. Immediately cop cars began showing up, wut the girl had vanished. I walked toward the college green and it was hailing now, and very cold. Suddenly, tall Asians with yellow machine guns ran in screaming, followed by the cops. I walked slowly away from the green and up some stairs. The whole college was very modernist and huge and daunting, and I was walking fast because I was scared of getting searched by the cops because I still had contraband on me. As I was walking away from the stairs, a ghastly little girl with a black eye crawled near the stairs. I almost immediately thought that it must be a ghost, something out of Angela's ashes. I had to stop and look around, and when I looked, I couldn't walk away. She threw two stones that hit me in the head. It was pelting down now, and I put on my thermal. I somehow got away and walked close to a building, and two walls that I was walking between got closer and closer. I walked through the walls, and it was dark now. I saw a giant shadow of a man in coat and hat hanging by his neck, dangling, juxtaposed against one of the buildings. Then suddenly I was at a bus stop with a woman in front of me, and I tackled her and the bus came all at once. The bus didn't stop for us because we were black, and I told her I was going to South Mawney st, I believe, and she said she was going that way too, and offered to take me there. We also talked about how it was a good yule time of year

or perhaps the dream where I'm driving through the woods with an old college buddy and we're ransacked by rednecks and called white trash, and we start banging heads, and suddenly we're in a room with the bader meinhof and this french guy with long blonde hair is talking french and he hands us each a syringe, and my friend sticks it through his arm, and I stick it into my arm and it hurts like hell, but it doesn't do anything when I inject it, and the Frenchman looks at me like I'm crazy.

Never seen the movie, but as soon as I woke up from that dream I tried to write a short film.

That's messed up Patrick, good to see you going back.

I had one last night.

There was a big meet up with about 60+ of us there in some big hall. I walked by Chi chi and she recognized (???) me and said "hi Max" which kinda freaked me out. Cheech you were with some brad pitt lookin dude (A younger Boney??).

Never did actually get to go out onto the town before I woke.

/No it wasn't THAT kind of dream!!!

i dream about dam all the freakin' time, it's always frustration dreams. Like this one time I was having a band practice in this weird underground cellar studio in amsterdam. When we'd finished we realised our three days in amsterdam was up and we hadn't been to any coffeeshops! I ran outside and found one (L-shaped bar, dark brown smoky decor) but there was no good-looking bud available. I went to find my friends but when I tried to return the the shop, I was suddenly in London and of course the coffeeshops were nowhere to be found.

Well Max of course I recognized you. On my plane ride home a few weeks ago my seat mate asked me to watch Father Ted. Never saw it before. So a bit later I guffawed aloud with head phones and she poked me and said see I told you it was funny shit.
