Is there any place I could kill a couple of hours near leidseplein? Museums or something like that. Also, how long does it take to walk from Dam square to Leidseplein?

Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh museum are both about a 10-15 minute walk from Leidseplein, with The Noon coffeshop at about the halfway point. I'm guessing you could walk from Dam square to Leidseplein in about 20 to 25 minutes or so.

There is a bar on Marnixstraat (not near to Leidseplein really) called Maloe Melo which I think you would like. On the right night, it's awesome.

http://www.maloemelo.nl/

At Leidseplein you have Melkweg and Paradiso as good venues. Check out both of their websites for your dates. Paradiso is a former church.

As coffeeshops go, Rookies is one of the best. It's big, airy and relaxed - rare for Amsty coffeeshops. Its all wood panelling in there which makes it cosy. Its something between the bar in Cheers and a students union.Thats at Leidseplein too.

Finally, almost across from Rookies is a great bar called the L&B Whiskey Cafe. Highly reccomended.

No, it isn't.
It is just a guess. Does it sound like a threat?

it sounds like you have no confidence in me. If I was in Amsterdam for two weeks I would consider smoking. The pot here flows like tap water and really good too. I don't smoke it here and won't smoke it there.

. I was in barcelona a couple years ago and had a great time. I' thought the museum of catalunian art had the best exhibit of maybe anywhere, with their church paintung collection. Rick steves turned us onto that, so rick steves book should be consulted when eurotripping.
