Peace, Des.
Sadly, I'm still thinking he was on the flight that got shot down over Eastern Ukraine last year. Sigh.
What makes you think that?
Peace, Des.
If I'm not mistaken, it happened right about the time he should've been heading home from Amsterdam.
Jaysus! ... I hope you're wrong and he reappears!
Peace, Des.

I did a bit of digging, hoping to put my mind at rest, but all I did was make things worse!
There was one New Zealander on board Flight MH17 ...

I think the answer is that no, Kiwi in Oz wasn't on that flight
http://www.news.com.au/travel/travel-up ... 6993206649
Weird coincidence though.

A New Zealand woman, a long-time resident of Australia, was travelling with her husband, a Danish citizen, is also believed to have been on the flight.
Weird coincidence though.

Unless KiO was a woman masquerading as a man?

Passed away in his sleep of a heart attack.
I can think of worse ways to go! ... How old was he?
Peace, Des.
Not old enough, perhaps his fifties. Also, there are worse ways to go, but in many cases they didn't die in their sleep. Getting up from a sound sleep in the morning is when most people put the greatest strain on their hearts during any given day. So people who've woken and start to rise have their heart attacks, but the pain is too great to scream loudly for help. They struggle a bit and die, only to have their family arrive too late, but say that at least the victim died in their sleep!
Rip Rob and may your big rig too.

Yeah, I know what you mean!
My Dad got up in the middle of the night complaining of really bad indigestion!
When my Mum came down the following morning she found him on the sofa dead as a fuckin' doornail!
She called me before she called the undertakers, and from the look on his boat race he died anything but a peaceful death!
Peace, Des.

Hey Banks, My ears were ringing... I haven't popped into channels for a bit. Still alive and kicking though.
Stayed away largely due to the new crowd when the stupid crap began to outpace actual info and content from the people who made the board good.
Miss the board/meetingplace that the old Channels once was.
Good to see there are still a few around
