What are those small round buildings with the ads on them?

Postby TAK » Fri Jun 05, 4:58 pm

They are small houses for the electrical transformers and electric connections. With the exceptions of the trams wires and some street lights, all the electric in the Centrum is underground. The transformers can't be buried so they are housed there. They do bring in some money for advertising too. Also on some buildings you will see GEB on a door. They are usually transformer stations too.

I have heard many stories about them. On an official tour the guide said they were for women toilets that got too messy. Someone else thought they were entrances to the underground. They are not! I am an electrician and I have been inside some of them.
