three days in Amsterdam

Amsterdam is an old city, skilled at entertaining her visitors. What insightful impressions for such a short trip; sounds like you researched well Aleksey. Your English has the charm of a foreign speaker, thank you for taking the time to learn it.

under my desk Bolly, if you really knew Anne, you would never consider speaking of her so disrespectfully. That you do so publicly reveals worlds about yourself, your sensibilities, and some of your weaknesses. That Asian guy must have been Wacky Chan. Good one, Bird, LOL! It's cool hearing your af...

Swin, I thought the graffiti mention lent a nice unifying theme, like a second story to your posts. Careful. My ex used to say it was a vacation when I was out of town.

iceolator

Ah, prices are just going up all over. There was no NL Ice or any other *Netherlands* hash at Het Balloonetje, 28 June 2007. La Tertulia has Iceolator for .6 gr/12€, different from the Dampkring Water Works in appearance (thin strips), but comparable in quality.

This was a thoroughly enjoyable trip report, thank you for sharing your experiences, Swin. I totally agree with your observation that there is always something new around the unexplored corners of Amsterdam. Hope the missus gets some great blooms!--amaryllis are stunning.

ice hasj

I asked for Nederlandse hasj and got two different grades of Water Works ice hash. 20€ and 25€/gm and they were completely sold out of the 35€/gm; this was Pink Floyd Dampkring yesterday afternoon 2007. The 20 Euro stuff was more fragrant, a little more spicy in flavour, both were firm thin sh...

Visited a friend today who is now in a wheelchair (she will be 92 next month) and made sure to squat, sit on the floor, and sit in a chair, so she would not be craning her neck to look into my nostrils : )

Yes, the Renaissance is nice; their cupola is 18th Century. It's a Marriott, so of course you will have American standards. After some wandering, I have found it enjoyable to sacrifice some of the luxury for a better price, which enables me to stay longer. It is possible to find lodging for somethin...

Next trip there's always something more to see. Have read that ammonia ruins the noses of sniffer dogs and it is also good to clean the outside of a suitcase. Did you have the right clothes? Very impressive that you saw so many museums in a short time.

The coffeeshop might get into trouble if you do not retain physical possession of any excess of five grams per person.
