If I remember correctly it is a train ride to Leiden, then a bus ride to Lisse. That bus (you'll have to find the right one) drops you off at the rear entry to Het Keukenhof. They used to sell a package deal at the CS but I have been told they stopped that. Check at the VVV (right outside CS) the sh...

There is a Bushdoctor on Thorbeckplein just up from Rembrantplein. Go up the wide street or plein past the "worst food in Amsterdam" That would be the right side of Rembrantplein as facing the statue from the east end of Reguiler Breestraat. The place is not at all gezellig but they do sell isol8r h...

Another great report. I am inspired (next trip I will take notes, LOL). Too bad you didn't find the chocolates though. Didn't Vermeer know where that place might be? I love In de Wilderman also, so much so that one time I stayed at the Citadel because it was an easy stumble from that cafe! BTW The B...

hey

Great report DB, sorry about Nikki. I had an indoor cat for 17 years. The unconditional love of a pet almost makes me believe in god, even "the gods". I am glad that you didn't experience any anti Americanism. I have experienced some sort of odd feelings from my more "hawkish" acquantances, those th...

Also, am finding that I am losing interest in the zillions of different strains of weed. These days, just give me two or three good sativas and that will satisfy the needs. Dogbreath This is what I have been saying for years! I have never had any weed in Holland that didn't do the trick. For this r...

Fanfriggintastic report! I have thought about staying at the Grand K but it is a bit pricey for me. Someday perhaps, the breakfast sounds great. I agree about the bar at Die Port Van Cleve, one of my favorites. Here are a few pictures of it: http://www.europebyphoto.com/4amsterdam-tour.html . I wann...

Hmmmm, "Die Rookerie"? Is that the bastard son of Die Rokerij and the Rookies? LOL. Did they change Rokerij? The weed sales used to be in the front? Nice report, keep 'em coming.

Re: The Pilgrimage Begins

During the flight, I seemed to have developed a bad case of the farts. Not wishing to offend the other passengers concurrently trapped in that aluminium tube, I had to slowly control the releases into small discharges, so as not to create a toxic air alert. For once your report actually contains mo...

Great report

Thanks for the great report. I am aching to get back, will have to wait for the fall though. BTW a lot of people do not know that De Kuil has a "BYOF" (bring your own food) policy and with two really great sources right across the alley, it is a great place to refuel on so many levels!

Obviously a "poser"

Only kidding, only kiddling, LOL But a guy from Moscow complaining about Amsterdam weather in February? A bit suspicious I would say. Very nice reports, I thank you very much. You might try the Rookies for pool, they have a decent table, some room and the music usually doesn't suck too bad. PAX

Hey Doghbreath, how do you "quote" the message that you are responding to? This is one of the things that I liked about the old forum. I just haven't figured out how to respond to a particular message in a thread.
