At that moment if you had cut a slice off my arse and fried it, the resultant bacon would have tasted like blueberry cannabis from De Kuil. :) Shedloads of people pass by the rokery so there is generally something to look at, and if all else fails you can always nip over to the pissoir for a piss ....

Sounds like a 4/20 miracle to me! Should we apply OHD for canonization as Saint Dave, patron saint of joint smokers? ;)

Santoka, when I clicked on the link in your post, I got a 403 error: "You are forbidden to access this file..." However, I rechecked the photos in the album, and I think you're talking about the pic titled "Graffiti art on Spuistraat 2." Am I correct? Many thanks for the complim...

Thanks for those excellent pix, Chiron. Glad you got so many of Albert Cuyp. I wandered around there a bunch last time & didn't take a single picture!

Excellent light in this one.

Ferry - that was his name? I couldn't remember! Yeah, he might have been haivng some fun with us, but you must admit Robin did a serious number on that plasma hookah. I couldn't believe how much smoke he made & then effortlessly inhaled. How could a guy that small have such massive lung capacity...

Nolympics 2005 (2)

(part 2 of my trip to Haarlem for the Nolympics) Sunday, 31 October 2006 I woke around 9AM, as that was the time I had arranged for breakfast. One of the nice things about this B&B was that there was no “common room” for breakfast. You confirmed with them what you wanted, then they brought it up...

Nolympics 2005 (1)

Before I begin, let me give you a bit of advice. If you want to remember events from your Netherlands trips, write something down when you’re there. Even the most cursory notes may be all that you need to recapture what it is you did that day when you’re later trying to use those notes to tell a sto...

You have to be careful though with those 7plus % beers. They can surely sneak up on you! I know what you mean - a Dutch friend introduced me to Het Kanon when I was over there, and at 11.6% it does pack a wallop. Thanks for the trip report. I've enjoyed reading it. You must've kept good notes! Sorr...

I guess I'm guilty of not really finishing the trip report, though not much happened after the boat ride. We did go to Albert Heijn and buy lots of chocolates as presents for those back home. Re: Father and Son, Day 5

With a burst of uncharacteristic speed, I jump outta da chair, dampen a few paper towels, and attack the layers of dust that have built up on the broad leaves of every single one of the houseplants on the boat. They've been calling to me to wash away their misery. Chief, you're the St. Francis of h...

Re: Tasty Tripping

We've talked about your trip face to face before, but reading about it filled in lots of blanks I had. Especially about the mushies. Actually I'd like to hear more about the boat trip and Diego Marx. Details? Heh, heh - we probably talked about it before and have both forgotten it. You've seen all ...
