Considering the amount he smokes while in the Dam, I think OHD is typing just fine at the keyboard. Not a lick of editing, but it is still oddly very readable. And all those typos add such a degree of character to the posts...gotta love it. Good to see Souleast made it to the Dam. Last year when we ...

Trip report wrap-up

Sorry I haven't posted the final installment of my trip report until now. To say things have been hectic at home and at work since I returned is an understatement. The main event before I had to leave was a pre-planned meeting with some fellows from another Amsterdam web board. We decided to meet up...

Trip Report January 13: Turning into a 'Super' trip!

Agreed to meet my friend in front of Centraal Station at 7:30, then we walked back to see his new apartment on Harlemmerstraat. At 650 euros per month it was a steal! Super bachelor pad with a breathtaking view of the nearby church from his fourth floor balcony. Then it was off to get some chow at t...

And be aware that they no longer (as of Jan. 1) sell Strippencards at the Centraal Station ticket counters. You have to go to a kiosk or the book store. Don't know why they did this, maybe to cut down on the traffic at the ticket counters?

Off to dinner now with my friend...

Trip Report January 12 - Mission Accomplished (again)

After I left the Easy Internet Cafe I realized I had underestimated the cold and wind and failed to bring my scarf and gloves, which would have been necessary for a search on foot without an address for the Greenhouse Namaste (BTW, I had it all along in my Cool Guide to Amsterdam! book I bought thre...

Trip Report January 11 - Just Arrived

Hiya all, Sitting here in the Easy Internet Cafe off Rembrandtplein after having checked into the NH Schiller. Flew business class on Aeroflot and was the only one in the entire section. Managed to relax and ease my tired bones. En route listened to a fabulous tape of Pink Floyd from Winterland in S...

Those were pretty cool. I liked the NYE one the best. What was that big ass flame on the lower right side? Looked like a car had been set on fire or something! Fireworks over Dam Square is a nice image for sure. Maybe someday I'll be lucky enough to do the Kras/NYE thing.

Thanks for the detailed trip report. Liked the bit about Barney's. Turns out my friend who lives in Amsterdam just moved into a new apartment on the same street. He says the place is sort of a greasy spoon that gives off a pagan caveman vibe at times with all the stoned tourists, but whatever. All I...

Yesterday at Rokerij II and back to Rookies

I am writing this final installment of my trip report from Moscow. Just got back a few hours ago and want to report on my last day in Amsterdam while my memory is still fresh. The day before I leave is always shopping day, so I headed on over to De Bijenkorf for a few gifts for the family. Expensive...

Yesterday at De Kuil 7-23-04

That bottle of Santa Carolina wine we drank the night before must have been the reason why my recovery time was extended the next day. Still felt tired around 4 PM, but I availed myself of two Heinekens in the room fridge and watched BBC news and CNN for a while. Tour de France was on again but I ha...

First, thanks to all of you reading and commenting on my trip report. I am simply returning a favor to those who have written before me. Yesterday at Grey Area and Amnesia 7-21-04

Met up with fellow Channelite bigbird at Grey Area at 2 PM yesterday. It was his first time to the shop, whereas I had stopped by Friday evening and hung out there for about three days in Feb. 2002. That previous evening I chatted with John, who remembered me from a couple years ago. I reminded him ...

lctricity,

Between your experiences with the "shelf" toilet and the men's room at Route 66, you deserve a Channelite award for "crappiest" post. LOL

Just kidding of course -- continuing to enjoy your great posts.

I have never passed out from smoking in the Dam, but agree that the first day is probably the most likely time to do so. Budsie - indica or sativa?

I indeed may be mistaken about the Budside being sativa. All I know is that it hit me a lot differently than the PP1 or the Buddha's Sister, which are both most definitely indicas. I tried to do a little research on the net about budsie but couldn't come up with anything. Otis, Weezil...any help on ...
