Delft is a fine city and the Future and Game coffeeshops were nice when I was there. Delft reminds me of a mini-amsterdam with the canals, bridges and such. Zandvoort has a place called Yanks that took us an hour of walking in circles to finally find. I did not care much for the coffeeshop, I don't ...

Didn't have the experience you did at Rastabasy but one trip was enough for me. I will not go there again, especially after hearing your story.

That just sucks, nothing worse than being ripped off.

I'm getting a clear picture of you in dear Barca and on the beach too. Are you in Barceloneta?, Si, esta en Barceloneta ahorita. Rented an apartment 50 meters de la playa. This place is great, just needs a few coffeeshops to make it perfect. I feel bad for all you poor sods that are going to work t...

Hello from Barcelona

I am sitting here right now on the beach stealing internet from a local bar. Weather is great and I will be heading back to Amsterdam for 4 days on Friday. A spliff of White Dolphin somehow made its way into my bag and I intend to enjoy it on the beach when it gets a little darker. Smoked some nice ...

You could also get a 3 star private room from Priceline for just a few dollars more per night, but that would not incude breakfast.

There are some very inexpensive ways to go, but the hostel is about the cheapest.

One lot of advice: Keep the fact that you are going to Amsterdam on the down-low and you may be less likely to be drugs tested. Think really hard about it before you take that risk as no amount of time in Amsterdam "schmoking your ass off" is worth your job. If you work in a skilled field, like avia...

Re: Day 8 - Jinks, Amnesia and my Mother-In-Law

Good read there SDShadow. After all was said and done, what's your MIL's take on our favorite city? She left with a positive view of the city but did not venture out of the shoppng areas and a trip to Keukenhopf. I could see her going back someday. She bought a hat for my father in law that says Am...

Day 12 - Tim and Jay go home

It was down to this: Tim and Jay were going home today and we were moving hotels to the Mariott Leisdeplein. We got up early and went to Barney’s for breakfast. I was very sad. I still had a few days left in Amsterdam but my brother and my mate were going home. Tim is always melancholy when it is ti...

Day 11 - Van Gough, Fish N Chips and the end is near

The end was near, or so I thought. The girls were leaving today and boys tomorrow. The girls had scheduled a 10:30 flight home, which meant we were going to the airport at 8:00. I arrived at their room shortly beforehand, helped with the luggage and jumped in a cab to the airport. The wife and I wer...

Day 10 -The Boners, Churros and Dutch Rules Pool

Sunday in The Netherlands. Can there be a better place? The girls were off to Keukenhoff to see the tulip fields. I got up early with them and took them to Centraal to ensure they were on the right train to Leiden. My wife’s niece had made a friend on an internet forum (sounds familiar) that lived s...
