Great report, reef! Boom Chicago is based on Second City in Chicago, which was the impetus behind Saturday Night Live. Many Second City folks have landed on SNL, including much of the original cast. Last March Boom Chicago appeared to have an all American cast - great that you got into the show! Las...

Great report, GT!! I love the soundtracks that accompany us around - far too often mine is entirely in my head!!

Almost Cut My Hair is credited to David Crosby; Guerilla Music, even on Deja Vu. It's his song whether he's doin' it with CSNY or with the NY Philharmonic.

Nice read, sounds like you had a great time. One interactive part of the Heineken experience that I like is the Amstel Arena section, where they replay some sporting moments through big speakers while watching a big TV. This includes crowd noise played over footage of the Champions League 99 final ...

Het Ballonnetje is a nice little shop, just a little out of the center (very close to the zoo). Take the #9 or #14 trams from Dam Square (I'm pretty sure #9 originates @ Centraal, while #14 heads west from Dam Square), get off at Plantage Kerklaan. At the intersection there, head away from the zoo o...

It's also one of the reasons I don't generally run for a coffeeshop first thing after arriving. Just my personal preference, but I usually have a pretty good buzz going when I first arrive just from being in one of my favorite places and wondering what I want to do first - it's all so damn exciting ...

Bruges has a great main square, but what I enjoyed most was walking around the less populated side streets. It really is like stepping back 500 years. But a little touristy for a small town on the main drags.

Mr. Charlie: The gear at Amnesia was fine. Their NYC Deisel was excellent. That was all I bought. Bojo's was near Leidseplein. I misspelled it. Sorry. In fact it was only a few doors from the Rokerij on Lange Leidsedwarsstraat. Just wondering - considering there are a pair of cafes named De Duvel a...

Sounds like you had a great time - good for you! I don't mean to start a war but why is it when the men write of their escapades it's ok but when women do the same they are sluts? Stupid double standards!.. ok I am done now... Just a thought - it may have been a joke. Damn overreacting women... ;-)

Chief Tex said he showed up, but we never hooked up. Rookies was just a little loud and college bar-y for me to like as a coffeeshop, or for it to be conducive to meeting up easily without badges. It wasn't a horrible place at all, mind you, just seemed like more of a party place - it might have bee...

Mr. C's trip report - day 7

Damn it's been a long time between installments from my March trip. This is nearly it, as day 8 is only partial and day 9 doesn't exist (yet). Saturday, 3/22 – Amsterdam OK – much better, up around 9am. I can now take the same nice leisurely pace and be out and about before 12:30 or 1 like I have be...
