There's no success like failure...
Hi, sorry my report is late. I got back, had to put out fires etc, then off to the Big Island for Xmas, no internet. Hey, better late than never. I was in San Antonio for a professional meeting where I coincidentally participated in a contest, by myself, no team mates. I actually made it to the fina...

write
I guess it depends on whether you like to write or not. I took a little notebook and just made it a point to write while on a train or at the end of the day or whatever but i really like to write anyway. Now that I am home and Amsterdam is months ago, I sometimes take the notebook out and read it-ma...

daddy
Nice one, daddy. sounds something like my trip-I meant to see people but. Terrible about the rip off. I too got a bag with backpack straps, locked it and kept it on my back whenever I had to go out with it. Hope you had fun anyway and are planning your next trip.

"Heads all empty and I don't care"
First, sorry for the delay in finishing this report. Just got back from two weeks in disneyland and vegas. Part of the marriage tax for my NL trip. After my week in Amsterdam I headed off to Brugge (Bruges) in Belgium. I packed up and walked back to Centraal Station with my head held high. Much more...

Going Back
Right. I am planning to try a home exchange next summer. I use a company called Intervac (if the personal connections I made don't work out). We plan to stay a month, whole family. Great way to travel and really get to know a place. My wife's criteria this time is "english speaking country". so NL, ...

big island
Hey,that's great, DM. My wife is from the Big Island and it is "no ka oi" (the best) for us. Yes, even law enforcement agrees that Green Harvest resulted in destruction of the state's biggest cash agricultural crop and created the crystal meth industry. Of course that didn't change anything. I did g...

Last day in Amsterdam
Nov 4, Tuesday, my last day in Amsterdam. I spent a week there. I took a liking to cafe van zuylen on the singel. this is a local place, I never saw any tourists and they had trouble finding an english menu-although I didn't really need one. The voices of the people here are melodious and low. this ...

Hi, Hank, what great irony! We do have great smokes over here. We also have this thing called "operation green harvest" a federally supported program to eradicate the evils of maryjane to keep our children safe... The news media loves to show pictures of guys rappeling down from choppers and hauling...

tea
Actually, we had a pot of tea right away! Tasted extra special in that damnable pot. Mom has about 75 teapots. We don't use the antique ones, but otherwise tea is always served. My mom is half english and half dutch. Maybe the tea thing comes from the english side.

And now for something different...
Sorry about the boring nature of my reports-I do a lot of technical writing, documentation etc...not very creative. I thought it would be useful to summarize all the things I did that didn't directly involve smoking: Artus Zoo: €14. expensive but-planetarium , aquarium, natural history museum, geolo...

Teapot Quest: Day 4
I am off to Delft in quest of the perfect teapot, besides regulars on this site recommend Delft as a pretty town. I have a wake up joint of blowtje, which is quite mild and walk over to centraal station. ""Dagretour" or roundtrip to Delft is €17. I have various smokes in my bag in case there are no ...

getting lost
Eventually I began to laugh about the whole thing because I get lost really easily here at home. The only places I can find are those near hospitals. i am really good with hospitals. The whole lost thing turned into my daily joke "i wonder how I will get lost today and what i'll see or find because ...

part 3-halloween
Woke up early and rolled up the rest of my Thai for a morning smoke. The thai was junk compared to the thai I knew in my youth, but perfect for a lightweight morning smoke. Today I went to the Anne Frank house, just cuz it seemed like the right thing to do. I didn't expect the experience to be so mo...

Frozen paradise part 2
Oct 30. I woke up early. The Singel is busy with cars, bikes, everything early in the morning. My plan for this trip is to divide up coffeeshops and activities. I love museums, old churches, etc. I walked down the herengracht to the rijksmuseum. Got lost on the way, of course. In fact, even with my ...

Journey to Mecca, Day One
Hi everyone. I just got back. Decided to wait till I got home to post because I use technology constantly in my work and wanted to take a break for a while. Here goes. mouth watering
Mouth watering...this is exactly the kind of special meal I enjoy. Thanks for the tip, the website is good. I will definitely put this on my list. I didn't know this kind of food, wine pairing, and service was available in Amsterdam.
