Re: London murder rate overtakes New York

Generally our murderers tend to kill folk with knives and therefore just one at a time. New Yorkers shouldn't worry about being knocked off top place, just one nutter with a gun, innocent school kids and NY will soon be on top again Yes yes, on queue, use your union jack-ass glasses to look down yo...

Re: a 2018 trip to Amsterdam

Does anyone on this site besides MHD actually go to Amsterdam anymore. For that matter; does anyone on this site have interest in going to Amsterdam anymore. Has this site turned into a weak weed/driving/puking site? Visited at least once a year (often more) since 1968 until my diagnosis in 2014 bu...

Re: Brexit News

Another implication of the deal signed is that it maintains thw GFA. The GFA allows that should a poll be called, the population of NI can take a vote to decide if they want a United Ireland. If there is a hard Brexit and the North goes to shit, a United Ireland is highly likely. A poll today showe...

Re: Brexit News

Apparently the EU/UK have just found agreement on NI, which is great news. No physical border infrastructure to be installed. Common travel area tween England and Ireland to be maintained. Very flexible from EU, surprisingly so. Brilliant news. You think so? Not a lot of point in re-instating contr...

Jesus I never sit on a public toilet ever. I put tissure first into the water so it doesn't spray up then I hover at a hopefully unspraying distance. I went in one today that had the seat covers on a convayer belt and couldn't be arsed to fuck with it and did the hover act. This tactic is very heal...

I have to say Mucky has it spot on, the Kras is probably the most enjoyable spot for a dump that I have found in 40 years of visiting Amsterdam although I do recall an eye of a needle job in The Pulitzer one morning after a particularly heavy night in the Gollem.

Swins diary 2009 Day 6 June 22nd

I always hate the last day of a trip and even though my flight wasn't until 2100ish, giving me virtually a full extra day, this year was no different in fact for the first time by lunchtime I was struggling to find something to do to spin out the time. After booking out of the hotel I went up the No...

Swins diary 2009 Day 5 June 21st

A fabulously laid back quiet morning (but then Saturday is deserted too and Mondays of course as so many shops are 'gesloten') Took a walk around the 'old South' either side of Vondelpark. I briefly found this area last year and was impressed by the superb buildings but someone on here pointed out I...

What a great day! Weather, sales of my postzegels and extreme violence on the street in the most unexpected area - what a wonderful place this is. Swins diary 2009 Day 3 19th June

Visited Utrecht today instead of Leiden. I know Leiden pretty well but had only ever spent a day or so in Utrecht so switched my plans and went there. Swins diary 2009 Day 2 18th June

Started the day off as I always like to do on the first morning with a walk around the Jordaan. I noticed some changes despite my thoughts in yesterdays report. The canals are much cleaner than usual - perhaps I have arrived just after a clean-up but no sign of rubbish, pissed Brits etc in the water...
